You know we love a full circle moment where a former intern joins the team π say hello to our Program Fellow, Cassidy!
Cassidy was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated with her bachelor's degree in Child Development from TCU in 2022 (go frogs!)
While at TCU, she interned at The Net, where she participated in jail outreach and survivor support group to help survivors feel seen, known, and loved right where they are.
Following graduation, Cassidy spent the summer in Capetown, South Africa working to complete her Child Life Specialist Practicum and incorporating trauma-informed care practices into childrenβs hospitals.
These experiences served as a catalyst into non-profit work and her desire to help people find freedom and healing through the power of positive relationships π
Cassidy calls The Paradox Church her home and in her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, running, riding her horse, drinking coffee, and making dinner with friends!
We're so glad you're here, Cassidy!
"I have never been around this many ladies and had this much fun. This is my new favorite memory." - D*, Net Survivor Leader
Modeling what healthy community and friendships look like, building new positive memories...this is exactly why our monthly social events exist π
Feeling thankful for our Net fam who makes these events possible for more women like D to experience healing and community!

β
Through these quarterly breakfasts, men are equipped the knowledge and skills they need to make a real difference in changing the culture of exploitation that drives trafficking πͺπ½β

β
If you guessed volunteers, you are correct!β
β
Volunteers like Sherry are the behind-the-scenes superheroes who surround survivors of trafficking with a network of encouragement, love, and support as they rebuild their lives.β
β
Sherry has served as a RISE Advocate for a little less than a year but if you ask our team about her, they will rave about her consistency, faithfulness, and wholehearted dedication to the woman she is paired with from our program!β
β
She not only shows up emotionally through prayer and words of encouragement, she also is always there when you need her and a bright smiling face at our monthly social events.β
β
We couldn't do it without you, Sherry πβ

We are honored to play a part in that and thankful for every person who makes The Net what it is. None of this is possible without you π

Their official titles vary but we consider our Program gals to be the best cheerleaders for survivors that we know πβ
β
Recently, our Staff Advocate, Natalie, wrote:β
β
"I am amazed by the women in our program who are fighting every single day for their families, their lives, and their future with all that they have. β
β
With so many obstacles it could be easy for them to feel discouraged or to lose hope and give up, but these women push forward and don't ever give up. β
β
When something doesn't go well, they grieve and cry with each other. β
β
When someone has a celebration, even if others aren't quite there yet, instead of being jealous or comparing, they are excited and celebrate with them! β
β
We could all learn from the way these amazing women do life together and how they commit to their community in support of one another."
Families, judges, advocates, donors, board members, church partners, law enforcement, and more gathered last week at our 11th Annual RISE Graduation πβ
β
We have the immense privilege of partnering with RISE, an incredible county court program to provide relational support, advocacy, recreational events, and more for survivors of trafficking and s*xual exploitation.β
β
The court's presiding judge, Judge Sheila Wynn, shared -- "People in our community are coming together to wrap their arms around these amazing women who dared to want something better for themselves."β
β
We celebrated, we cried, and we clapped our hearts out because everyone is worthy of the chance to rebuild their lives and these ladies are living examples of what that looks like! β¨ππΌπ
