1ļøāƒ£ Never, ever leave your pup alone in a parked car, even for a quick errand. It can be fatal in minutes.

2ļøāƒ£ Provide plenty of fresh water and shade when your pet is outside. Remember, hydration is key!

3ļøāƒ£ Plan your walks during cooler parts of the day, like early mornings or evenings, to avoid pavement burns and overheating.

4ļøāƒ£ Protect those sensitive paws! Hot surfaces like asphalt and sand can burn your pup's paw pads. Test them with your hand before going for a walk.

5ļøāƒ£ Consider cooling accessories, such as cooling mats, bandanas, or misting fans.

6ļøāƒ£ Watch for signs of overheating: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or difficulty breathing. If you suspect heatstroke, seek veterinary help immediately!

When we get notice from law enforcement or animal control about an emergency, our first priority is making sure we have the resources to successfully pull off a response.

It can cost thousands of dollars in resources to respond to large scale animal abuse cases. Our ability to continue the work we do is dependent on YOUR generous donations.

We still have much more to share about and we encourage you to stay tuned to see how your support is turned into action for the animals ā€” it was through your generosity that we were able to respond and put those animals in a safe and loving environment.

Your contributions will help AIR continue our mission in responding to large scale animal abuse and furthering education for law enforcement and animal control officers.

Pets go missing more on July 4th than any other holiday throughout the year!

With firework celebrations happening all around, itā€™s time to start taking precautionary steps to make sure your pets stay safe! The loud sounds and flashing lights can be terrifying and overwhelming.

šŸ”¶Keep pets indoors throughout the celebration (as well as the days leading up to the holiday and a few days after).

šŸ”¶Keep your pets entertained with sensory toys and treats to keep their mind occupied.

šŸ”¶Create a safe space for your furry friend ā€” this can look like a cozy carrier or crate. This will help make them feel safe and comfortable.

šŸ”¶Make sure your petā€™s ID tags and microchip information are up to date in case of an unexpected escape.

šŸ”¶Exercise your pets prior to festivities to keep their energy low during stressful times, but do so indoors or in the early morning hours while the weather is cooler.

šŸ”¶Refill or prepare any medication your pet may need to help remain calm during stressful times. Or reach out to your vet now to see if medication might help ease your pet's nerves.

As we were winding down our Denton County Disaster Response efforts, we deployed a second Disaster Team to start their work with the animals at Garland Animal Shelter & Adoption Center. The Garland area suffered a lot of storm damage which led to an influx of animals coming into their shelter. Our team provided daily care for hundreds of dogs waiting for adoption while others were still flooding in.

If you are in the market for a new furry family member, stop by Garland Animal Shelter and adopt your new best friend! They have some AMAZING dogs and cats ready to love you!

We can not continue to do this work without YOUR support. Consider a donation TODAY so we can continue to answer the call for help for animals impacted by disasters. Become a monthly donor today so we can continue our life saving work. Click here https://animalinvestigationresponse.ddock.gives/?givingPageId=60e7a568-18ea-4fe7-b488-31b898056266

More than 50 homeless cats were evacuated as part of our recent emergency disaster response efforts in Denton County. These were cats in the shelter previous to the tornadoes and floods.

We partnered with the ASPCA to help us after severe flooding at All American Dogs Shelter left over 100 shelter animals in need of emergency evacuation.

Our dedicated team, alongside the ASPCA, ensured the safe relocation of these cats to an emergency shelter where they will continue to receive daily care until they move on to placement partners where they will find their forever homes šŸ’— šŸ±

Over 50 shelter dogs All American Dogs Shelter were safely evacuated after severe flooding and are now at an emergency facility receiving the care they need to get ready for brighter futures!

With the help of the ASPCA, we were able to safely evacuate over 100 animals in total as part of this response. We would also like to thank Noah's Ark for the use of their adoption trailer. This helped to house dogs that had been displaced from the flooded building at the shelter.

In situations like this, we have to act fast, and your donations are crucial to help our team get these animals to safety.

A call for help rang out to many agencies in Texas, and AIRā€™s Disaster Response Team stepped up to respond! Help arrived to assist yet another shelter that had seen the impact of the recent severe storms. ā›ˆļø

The damage to the surrounding area left damage to structures and fencing, allowing a large influx of dogs to become displaced from their homes and flooding the already full shelter.

Stay tuned for more updates on our DUAL Response effortsā€¦ You can help us stay available to assist Texas animals in need that have been affected by disasters by becoming a monthly donor!

Itā€™s heartbreaking to see just how much love and comfort these displaced animals needed. šŸ§”

Our team stood by them day in and day out to help with snuggles, walks, socialization, treats, and moreā€¦

While our daily care team comforted displaced animals, our medical team worked on getting dogs and cats that had already been at the shelter prior to the tornadoes, ready for transport to make room for the displaced animals. The process leading up to transport can take anywhere from days to weeksā€¦ and we remained on-site until every animal reached their destination.

Please consider donating to help support our critical efforts for these and other storm impacted animals in North Texas.

06/13/2024

šŸ—£ļøDenton County Response Update: The Doctors are in da house! A crucial part of the process our team handles is vetting the animals to prepare them for transport. Our medical team worked long hours to get over 100 animals vetted so they could be eligible for transport out of state. Being able to move some of the dogs and cats out will free up room for an over capacity shelter that was affected by the severe flooding. This will allow them to hold the storm animals longer for a better chance of reunification with their families.

We would like to thank our very own Dr. Mary and Dr. Fuller, as well as their awesome vet teams for giving each animal a thorough exam, vaccinations, heartworm tests and their health certificates so they can have this amazing opportunity!

Vet expenses and daily care costs add up and we need urgent donations to help us cover BOTH of our latest Disaster Responses, please consider a tax-deductible contribution today!

No two responses are alike & our Tornado response effort in Denton County is no different!

We partnered with All American Dogs Shelter to allow their team some relief while our team helped with the tornado impacted animals.

PLOT TWIST: The constant storms caused All American Dogs facility to flood and our team was there to help address the emergent situation for the affected buildings and animals.

This is exactly why we stay ready to respond for whatever comes our way - the animals safety and dignity come first, and YOUR urgent donations help us get these animals the care they need!

In just ONE WEEK, we will be turning 9 years old, and we canā€™t think of a better way to commemorate the year than to ask for 9 new monthly donors!

In honor of World Veterinary Day, we wanted to take a minute to highlight some of the incredible Veterinarians and Vet Techs that we have had the pleasure of working with during our 34 deployments over the years.

Immediately after getting animals to safety, our team must do medical assessments and determine treatment plans for each individual animal. 99% of the time, this isnā€™t happening in your typical vetā€™s office type scenarioā€¦ weā€™re stationed in fields, barns, trailers, tents, and often on the go. It is fundamental to each case to document, immunize, and care for these animals - many of which may have never been handled or had a proper assessment done before in their lives.

Thanks to the kindness of our donors we are able to provide the supplies, but we rely on Vets and Vet Techs to volunteer their time and expertise to offer these animals dignity and a chance at a future full of adequate care, attention, and love. These skills, passion, and kindness do not go unappreciated by our team, the agencies we work with, or the animals. šŸ§”From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you!

Another Transport Day is in the AIR!

Our partnership with some of the leading animal agencies in Texas help us respond faster and allow us to care for these deserving animals. Operation Kindness has stepped up for a couple of the pups, and we are endlessly grateful for their partnership!

Wishing the happiest life to these two sweet little ones! šŸ§”

In honor of Earth Day and in Texas, we want to introduce one of the animals rescued from .

After all the animals left, including the pigs, dogs, and hybrids, there was all but one lone dog ā€” a Chow!

Our team gave all the love and kindness they could offer while she waited for her knight in shining armor (her personal transport) to drive her to her foster mom withHouston Chow Chow Connection.

Long gone are the days of living tethered to a tree with a plywood dog house surrounded by bodies of decaying animals. This beautiful girl has a new beginning with a new name. Can you guess what her new name is? Bluebonnet!
