Habitat for Humanity Greater Fresno Area
Habitat Greater Fresno Area helps families realize strength & stability through affordable shelter.
Habitat for Humanity Greater Fresno Area seeks to end poverty housing in Fresno and Madera counties by uniting individuals, families, and communities to build decent, affordable housing. We work in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities. We do this by building and renovating houses so there are decent homes in decent communities where people can
Are you looking for a unique way to support our mission? You can help us welcome our new Habitat homeowners! Once we complete Habitat homes, we want to provide our partner families with supplies to get them started. This Amazon registry (https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/7UGR3NC2R4EX) will make your donation easier. If you prefer to drop these items off, our office is open 9 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. Monday - Friday (excluding holidays). We appreciate your support!
The scorching Fresno sun couldn't stop us from raising the walls on our next Habitat home! This upcoming house, located in Fresno, is sponsored by our friends at Fresno Association of Realtors with a generous gift in memory of Sandy Darling and Tom Hyatt. Our team was excited to work alongside Sandy's daughter and granddaughterโthey were absolute powerhouses the entire day. They, along with their friends from the realty group, helped the house finally take vertical shape! ๐ช๐ป๐
Our very own Rick O'Daniel celebrated framing his 101st Habitat house at our affiliate! As our licensed construction director, Rick has been with our affiliate since 2006, but his construction skills date back to 1978. Saturdays at the build site are completely incomplete without Rick's booming presence and timely humor. Staff, volunteers, and Habitat homeowners frequently seek his guidance as our houses take shape on the slab. Thank you, Rick, for blessing us with 18 years of teamwork and 101 framed homes!
ICYMI: Another little family member found their new home through Habitat for Humanity! This rescued puppy secured a sturdy dog house at our ReStore. ๐๐๐
Congratulations to Tajinder (Taj) Dogra on being selected to build his Habitat home with us! Taj is a single father of four children. This family lives in a tiny apartment that is infested with mold and cockroaches. The landlord refuses to make repairs to the unit, leaving Taj and his children struggling to live comfortably. Mold grows in excess along every window and across one bathroom ceiling. Paint is peeling from walls and doors, leaving the floor littered with paint chips. Bathroom and kitchen counters are peeling due to the high humidity. We absolutely cannot WAIT to see Taj and his children move into the home of their dreams!
Thank you to the Fresno Association of Realtors for partnering with us to make this home happen! This new house will be dedicated in loving memory of Sandy Darling and Tom Hyatt, who were both fierce supporters of our mission. ๐

Our organization was BUSY last week when we surprised TWO families with the news that they were selected to build their homes with us! Our first set of new, upcoming Habitat homeowners is Gilbert and Chanel Criado. They and their five children are currently living in severely cramped conditions where they share two bedrooms and only one bathroom. Chanel is a real estate agent who has desperately been trying her hardest to secure a home for her family, but has been met with one obstacle after another due to the severe shortage of affordable homes in Fresno. Now, she and her family will finally have the space to spread out and thrive!
