About Itzel: Before joining the Kremen School of Education and Human Development as an administrative assistant for the Office of Clinical Practice, Itzel was employed in the University of California Santa Barbara Mechanical Engineering Department. In addition, Itzel serves as the executive chair for the HEAL Graduate Student Association (HGSA) and Vice President of the Latino Faculty Staff Association (LFSA) at Fresno State.

Itzel pursued her higher education at the University of California Santa Barbara, earning a B.A. in Language, Culture, and Society with a minor in Education. She is a 2nd year Master’s student in Higher Education Administration and Leadership (HEAL) in the Department of Educational Leadership.

As a three-time , Lupe Mendoza has always been driven to make a difference in the lives of Valley students. After realizing common gaps in the dual enrollment program she oversees as a vice principal, Lupe went back to school and focused her dissertation research on culturally relevant and age-appropriate pedagogy, reaffirming her commitment to life-long learning.
