Job Description
The Arc of California, the state’s oldest and largest advocacy organization for people with intellectual and developmental
disabilities, is seeking a motivated and passionate Administrative Coordinator for our Sacramento office.
Objectives
The Administrative Coordinator’s objectives are:
• Work collaboratively with The Arc CA’s staff and members to advance key policy and society changes that will improve the community of services and supports for Californians with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
• Assist to strengthen The Arc CA’s relationships with stakeholders, advocacy partners, media, and state policy makers.
• Enhance The Arc CA’s support for the community through constituent interaction, marketing, fundraising, and outreach efforts.
• Provide support for The Arc CA’s Board of Directors to enable their full participation and leadership for the organization.
• Provide administrative support for the executive director and other directors.
Essential Duties
Working in concert with the The Arc CA’s executive director and other team members, the Administrative Coordinator
will:
• Policy & Advocacy: Coordinate with team members to develop assets and launch activities to influence policy, including data research, impact measurements, fact sheets, and grassroots coordination.
• Event Coordination: Manage event coordination process for annual policy conference, Board meetings, fundraisers,
and other events, including hotels, event space, logistics, and contracts.
• Program Support: Provide operational & logistical support to projects, including task management, team coordination, and reporting.
• Administrative Assistance: Complete tasks as assigned by executive director or other director staff, including scheduling, research, mailing, copying, and travel arrangements.
• Office Management: Answer and direct phone calls and mail. Be a resource of information for people calling the office. Contribute to an enjoyable and fun work environment.
Requirements
• Proficient in online applications such as Zoom, Google Docs, Canva, and Dropbox.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and self-managing time allocation toward tasks.
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Background in the disability community.

Location: Sacramento, CA, in-office at least three days per week with options for remote working the other two days (inoffice requirements will be influenced and determined by public health requirements and directives to ensure safety from
COVID-19).
Starting Wage: $20/hour, 40 hours/week.

Course Description

At the Parkinson’s Foundation, the health and safety of the community comes first. Because of the evolving situation with COVID-19, we have shifted our Team Training for Parkinson’s (formerly known as ATTP) program to a virtual platform for the near future, making our signature training program now accessible to the global health professional community.

Virtual Team Training for Parkinson’s is an entirely online course designed by the Parkinson's Foundation to increase knowledge about Parkinson’s disease (PD) and build capacity for comprehensive, interprofessional care in the treatment of PD. This dynamic, interactive course features a combination of online courses, interactive virtual sessions and offers an intensive curriculum. The virtual program will include:

CME/CEU credit for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, PTs, OTs, SLPs, and social workers from the comfort of home
Individual and team planning tools for immediate implementation (team discounts will apply)
Opportunity to network with regional, national, and international health professionals
*USF Health is the accredited provider for CME/CEU activity for this course.

The course will include three online learning segments:

Module 1: Parkinson’s Disease Fundamentals, online and open to completion once registration occurs (sessions include an overview of Parkinson’s disease and medications, interdisciplinary care teams, and neuropsychiatric symptoms and management.
Modules 2-5: core classes, online to be completed at a self-paced plan prior to the virtual live sessions (April 27-30, 2021).
Core virtual interactive sessions to be completed over four afternoons from 1:30PM 5:30PM ET on April 27-30, 2021. Virtual sessions will include:
case presentations
discipline specific break-out sessions (PT, OT, SLP, MD/NP/PA, SW, RN)
three live panels with people with Parkinson’s or Care Partners
team breakout sessions
The course is intended for those who are interested in education about management of medications and care challenges in Parkinson’s disease who are licensed in the specified disciplines below and currently working with Parkinson’s patients. Patient coordinators or navigators are also encouraged to attend with their team (licensure not required).

Since being launched in 2002, Team Training for Parkinson’s has trained more than 2,400 healthcare professionals in the best practices backed by the latest research in Parkinson's disease care through a dynamic team-based approach. In 2018 alone, over 200 health professionals were trained who went on to provide direct care to over 30,000 Parkinson’s patients and 25,000 care partners in the last year.

Registration Prices:

$550 per person for individuals without a team
$475 per person for teams of 3 to 4 team members (must represent at least 2 different disciplines)
$450 per person for teams of 5
$425 per person for teams of 6 or more
Students: Free (maximum of 2 slots per discipline)
MD Fellows: Complimentary (limited to 2 MD fellows per training)
Students: Complimentary limited*
Registration fees include electronic access to course materials.
*NOTE: Complimentary student access is limited to 2 students per each listed discipline track and must be a full-time student which is unlicensed in the discipline track for which you're applying.
