Finally! A huge study looking at over 73,000 subjects was published which evaluated using water for comfort during labor compared to actually giving birth in the water. The study concluded: “Among women using water immersion during labour, remaining in the pool and giving birth in water was not associated with an increase in the incidence of adverse primary maternal or neonatal outcomes.” In plain English: there’s no increased risk of harm to mom or baby when baby is birthed into water! This sweet repeat BundleBorn momma has had the good fortune to have Midwife Teri for her first birth, but Midwife Amber for her second. Jackpot!! Once again, she was incredibly strong and patient as she labored… but when her baby was ready… 🏎️ 💨 had to put the pedal to the metal to get the team back to the house after giving mom some privacy & space (just as predicted by her team 🙃). This woman is the picture of strength and determination like no other, both on the path of motherhood and bringing her son earth side. This may look like a simple photo of new parents and the cutest little cutie pie, but the journey to this moment is nearly a decade in the making. Oh how we wished that her labor would have been “easy,” but that wasn’t her story. Our team was incredibly humbled & inspired by her faithfulness, clear headed decision making, and grit. This sweet little baby bear was loving welcomed by his family after an efficient 2 hour labor, in the water, with his auntie and grandma cheering the parents on! He’s the 3rd BundleBorn grandchild to this grandma 🤍 We love serving this family and pray for them to be fruitful and multiply 😆🙏🙏🙏😆

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of Midwife Teri’s graduation from earning a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Midwifery! So fitting to be on the heels of birth #500, in a beautiful space suited exactly to our needs, and with the team that was once a pipe dream. Ten years flew by in a flash! Happy Birth Day to sweet baby H!! Baby #4 of 6 over spring break 🥰 Her mother was absolutely incredible… handled labor like a pro, calmly asked questions and considered all the factors at hand before pushing the call bell and simply saying “I’m Ready.” While another cesarean wasn’t Plan A, it was indeed part of the plan - “if we need to, we will.” Exercising discernment to know when mom or baby need a service only provided at the hospital is not a failed homebirth, it’s homebirth gone RIGHT. Once again, thank you to Baylor Dallas for accepting us and our clients with love & grace and being kind humans.

To follow up on the previous post of ’s beautiful film documenting this birth following cord prolapse, here’s some of the story in still photos. Starting with a handheld Sono assessing his position (he was a wild one!), on to holding him in the OR, through the relief of his well-being, skin to skin with his parents, and enjoying a moment with all 3 of this family’s little ones. Midwives rarely hold babies, but holding this one came with so much healing in my own heart. Many congratulations to this beautiful family that I love so much. Oh hi. 🦶 this little cutie got all sorts of twisted up in there, not in a breech presentation that was possible to be born vaginally. This sweet girl is safely a part of her family & for that, there’s cause for celebration! It’s valid to mourn the vision & hope for the plan that didn’t come to fruition, while simultaneously being grateful for safe access to surgical birth. I always say that having a c/s is a part of the birth plan - if it’s truly needed. We aren’t trying to avoid *necessary* interventions, only the unnecessary interventions. We are so proud of this mom for so bravely setting aside her plan & listening to her baby’s needs. Mothers are truly super heroes!! 🦸‍♀️ photos by

These little cuties kept us on our toes! Mom’s active labor was only 35mins total, 23 mins until baby A & 12 mins later for baby B. Fortunately, her doula Lindsay & I were already at her home when things kicked in. And was hovering down the street just 3 mins away, ready to come assist when the time came. Baby A rocketed out, head first, diving into the water & Baby B was born breech! It was a high adrenaline, incredible, beautiful birth of these brothers. Thank you for coming to help after babies were born!!! 🙏🙏🙏 I’m so happy for this repeat family 😍😍 Thank you for trusting us to guide you on this journey! Can’t wait to find out if they are identical or fraternal!

Mom & Baby worked hard! But there’s nothing quite like the victory of a 10 # VBAC at home after previously having a c-section for “small pelvis.” Yeah ok 🙄 Her pelvis is fine AF photo credit 🤍

ITS A TIE! 30 male & 30 female babies! With 2 whole midwives with us now, we were able to serve more families than any other year. We had several firsts this year too! First pre-term twins, first repeat c-sections after laboring hard hoping for VBACs (x2), first c-section for breech, & first c-section because mom’s gut instinct told her that’s how her baby needed to be born. It’s been a year of whirlwind experiences, triumphs & also tragedy. Special recognition goes to all of our families who experienced loss in 2023, especially Truett’s parents - who held him in their arms too soon at 22wks 1day. Thank you to all of our clients who have entrusted this season of your life to our care. It’s a genuine honor 🤍

⚠️: midwife brag! Even though this was her 4th unmedicated out of hospital birth, she put in the work in her pregnancy to prepare her mind and body. Setting some goals for herself & conquering some challenges, she so calmly breathed her baby out. She trusted her body, waited until she knew it was time, and then reached in to the water to catch her baby. My hands stayed in my lap! Her sweet husband was so attentive and predicted, TO THE MINUTE, the time of birth. He knows his wife & how she labors 🥹 Congratulations to this precious family! Well done, momma 🤍

I fell in love with her the first time I spoke to her on the phone about 5yrs ago. She and her precious husband had a vision for their family & were taking the leaps of faith to walk into those values and goals. I believed in them & wanted to be a part of their journey. Finally after 5 long years, they welcomed their second little Queen today. Lovingly nicknamed baby Yo-yo 🤍 During her birth team meeting, I shared that sometimes dad catches baby and then mom also reaches down & they lift baby together. Envisioning that moment moved her to tears. And then it happened in real life 🥹 After a week of prodromal labor, she powerfully pushed baby Yo-yo into this ’s hands and then reached down to lift baby together. Just a dream! How is this real life?? Her mom was right there by her side, supporting her in all the ways that a Mimi can. Even big sis was there to welcome her baby sissie, even if she did decide to close her ears 🤣 It’s not lost on me what a privilege it is to be invited into this sacred space. 1 yr. 34 babies. 21 girls & 13 boys. 2 sets of twin girls & 3 breech boys. Giving birth to her own surrogate baby. VBAC, VBA2C, VBA3C. It’s been a big year for Midwife Amber! This moment. UGGHH 🥹😭😭 After birthing 3 absolutely incredible boys, this was a surprise baby. This is the moment when mom looked to see if she had a fourth son or a baby girl. Upon seeing that she is now a , she just started sobbing. She couldn’t even get out the words to tell the rest of the family. This photo captures that moment when - for just a few seconds - she was the only one in the room who knew that baby girl Glory was here with us. We are so happy for your precious family. After transferring with her first daughter nearly 6 years ago due to a 3 day labor, I couldn’t help but become emotional when she was pushing this sweet baby girl into the world in the comfort of her own bedroom. It’s such a privilege to have cared for one of our VIP BundleBorn families again for a second time 🤍 My heart is so happy for you all 🤍
