This morning GCDA attended the groundbreaking for the new Food City! Mayor Craig Ford gave a warm welcome to Food City President & CEO Steve Smith. Demolition should begin next week!

GCDA appointments made, questions addressed by Gadsden Council The Gadsden council appointed two council members to replace Gadsden Commercial Development Authority members, rather than four, as had been proposed.

Since the Public Works Department’s "Gadsden Recycles" opened in 2014 at 306 N. Henry St., the facility has been popular with residents looking to keep things out of landfills. They accept cardboard, #1 and #2 plastics, mixed paper (old mail, newspapers, books, magazines), metals (except for food or soup cans), aluminum, and electronics (no old glass-style televisions).
Material can be dropped off from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, so stop by today!
