R.W. John Emerson Kelley Jr was elected Senior Grand Warden for 2023. He ran unopposed for the position. Brother Kelley has served as the Grand Master’s Grand Marshal for the past three years. It has been the tradition of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts since 1906, that at the completion of the Grand Marshal’s tenure, he serves as Senior Grand Warden the following year. He will be installed at the Grand Lodge’s Stated Communication on December 27th. Congratulations Brother Kelley!
Brother Kelley was raised in Star of Bethlehem Lodge, Wakefield, on April 21, 1999. He served as Master of the Lodge in 2006 and 2007. He was the District Deputy Grand Master of the 13th Masonic District for 2016, serving one year instead of the usual two years. He did not complete his term as M.W. Paul F. Gleason, Grand Master, selected him to serve as Grand Sword Bearer; a position he held between 2017 and 2019. In 2020 he was installed Grand Marshal. At today's Quarterly Communications, R.W. George F. Hamilton of Westborough was elected the 91st Grand Master of Masons of Massachusetts for 2023. He will be installed on December 27th. The Massachusetts’s Grand Master traditionally serves three one-year terms. This will be his first year in office. Congratulations Brother Hamilton!
Raised in Alpha Lodge, Framingham, in 1984, he served as Master, or presiding officer, for the Lodge in 1988 and 1989. He subsequently held the position of Lodge Secretary for four years.
