Nicole Hensch Yoga
With almost 10 years of teaching at all levels, I am dedicated to making Yoga accessible, safe & fun.
This week and next at Phoenix are my last public classes before surgery— hope to see you!!
If those times don’t work, let’s connect and do a small group class before 9/23 😝🙂
Friends, I committed to creating a newsletter... in 2021. Spoiler: it never happened.
If you know me, I am a littttttle bit of a procrastinator AND an over- thinker. So, here I am in 2024 humbly presenting you with my Substack. It is a newsletter/blog/virtual class hybrid that I am jazzed about. My first post goes live this evening. Thank you, Jessica Shelton for inspiring me to start one.
I hope you'll subscribe. There is a free version and a paid version. Free version will be more along the lines of schedule updates, announcements, typical newsletter *things*. The paid version will include more personal writing, playlists, virtual classes & down the road, I hope to offer subscribers discounts on select events.
Becoming a paid subscriber is also a super easy and low-cost way to support me during my surgery and recovery which will require me to take some time off from teaching
Subscribe to Mobility & Matcha Musings about mobility, matcha... and whatever else floats my boat in the present moment. Click to read Mobility & Matcha, by Nicole Hensch, a Substack publication. Launched 20 days ago.

Public schedule this week- where will I see you??
I can’t believe we are nearing the end of July! 😝
Indoors or outdoors?! I have you covered this week!
Finally ready to share (even though most my close students know) that I am having hip surgery in September. I have been living:teaching:practicing with pain for the past 9 months. I have also spent a lot of time in those past 9 months frustrated, angry, defeated and ready to move through that and talk more openly about pain. I tried for many months to stick with non-invasive methodologies and even though there was some minor improvements, I was still was in pain regularly and had minimal range of motion in my hip. So, a few months ago I did X Rays/MRI and after a few consults with different orthopedic surgeons, have decided surgery is the answer since there are some structural issues with the hip that no amount of non-invasive methodologies can undo and want to avoid further damage. I feel really confident with the surgeon I’ve chosen.
To have this happen during my first full year of teaching has been a gut punch (physically:mentally:financially) but it has been incredibly insightful. I have modified my teaching and practice to navigate and work through/with pain. I have focused more on mobility. I have been spending more time listening.
I will be taking some time off in the Fall so let’s make the most of the summer ✌️
🇺🇸 it’s a holiday week so plan accordingly! Have a safe and happy Fourth of July, friends! 🇺🇸

Don’t worry, part ✌️ will be showing employee benefits 🤍
Stop and smell the 🌸… and come to Yoga tomorrow night at Phoenix Training GR!

I ✨love✨ bringing Yoga into the workplace. I’ll be highlighting it a bit more over the next few days because I’m so passionate about it. I’ve taught in very small start-ups and large corporations. I’ve taught in marketing start-ups and scrap/recycle management company. Regardless what the environment is, I love seeing employees feel cared for and supported. Whether the focus is on stress relief and/or undoing the aches from sitting at a desk, Yoga in the is such a simple (& affordable) way to bring wellness into the workplace 🫶 Thanks for bringing me in after a staff meeting, Whitney!
I’ll be back from Florida tonight & fully recharged for a great week of classes! ☀️
Phoenix Training GR classes are beginner friendly & the most inclusive environment— sign up directly with them or happy to point you in the right direction!
I’ll hopefully be on a beach end of the week! No public classes this week. ☀️
I do have 2 more March events coming up—- check the comments to grab a spot in those 🫶
