Thank you so much Altar’d Stare for supporting us as you Mission Monday organization and raising over $4,000 to support youth empowerment in the community! We are so thankful ✨
Thank you Mayflower Congregational Church for being a Supporting Neighbor! We are so grateful to be able to partner and have your help in this empowerment work. Your congregation has supported our organization through some of our largest projects and we are so thankful.

We have been enjoying the small moments in the hard work of the season.
Upcoming ways to get involved with New City Neighbors include a Taste & See September 19th, our Fall Festival October 2nd, a BIPOC Mental Health Panel Event November 15th, and Dinner to Remember with New City Cafe.
See more details here: http://newcityneighbors.org/events/
Thank you to everyone that attended our panel on the intersection of food and culture! We are so grateful to be able to hold spaces to learn together. Follow us for more information for our next panel on BIPOC Mental Health.
Yesterday our youth employees explored social issues that they are passionate about and participated in activities to help them understand these issues a bit more. Not only do they engage in hard work in both the farm and cafe programs and practice leadership, they also have time to explore deeper into the world around them and learn about what it means to be a good neighbor.
Our 25 to Thrive Campaign is over but still consider a subscription donation to New City Neighbors! Sustainable gifts hold our organization together and allows us to thrive. Thank you for your continued support ✨

We are in week 8 of our 10 week summer, times flies when you’re having fun! Recently our farm crew visited Stillwind Farm and our cafe crew visited the Downtown Market and Community Food Club. Exposing students to businesses and other organizations is very important to us. We are able to have intentional discussions on the benefits and differences that they may notice at different establishments.

Yesterday our youth employees did an activity about food access, affordable food, and what healthy and culturally appropriate food looks like to different people. They shopped for a hypothetical household from photos of a free food resource center. Then they compared the price of their item to a grocery and average salaries and grocery budgets. We are always excited to spark our students minds and hear their thoughts on food related topics!
