The Family Effect

We already have so many babies at Serenity Village, but the stork is coming back. In the next few months we have at least 4 more babies arriving.

According to Munchkin.com babies ranging from newborns to 1 month old can use as many as 12 diapers a day. That multiplied by our expected 4 is 48; which is more diapers than the average pack of diapers holds. And that doesn't even include the babies that we already have welcomed. Wow, that is a lot of diapers!

Did you know that The Family Effect is always looking for donations of diapers, diaper wipes and pull-ups? These baby items go toward helping our mothers at Serenity Place and their babies. As you probably know, babies go through some of these items very fast; making sure that we have plenty is of extreme importance.

It’s the beginning of a new month and a beautiful day at our Shipman Center location. Just as there is a path is the picture, we each have a path we are on. Where is your path going to take you this July?

The Family Effect is grateful to have been chosen by Contractors, Closers & Connections of Greenville as their charity partner for their “Sky’s the Limit” event. It was so nice getting to meet everyone in attendance and to be part of this wonderful event. Thank you so much Contractors, Closers and Connections of Greenville for helping us to provide hope, heal families and eliminate addiction in our community!

The Family Effect is excited to be partnering with Greenville Liberty . Join us on Tuesday, June 25th for the Fan Appreciation Night match at Furman Stadium's Paladin Stadium. Gate opens at 6 P.M. The game starts at 7 P.M.

The Family Effect will be selling Raffle tickets and accepting donations. We are asking for donations of baby diapers, diaper wipes, pacifiers, baby bottles, pullups and non-perishable, individual serving food items. We have a limited number of special edition t-shirts to pass out to the first so many fans that bring a donation with them. So, be sure to get there early to claim your shirt with a donation.

Happy Memorial Day from The Family Effect. Today we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country and for their families.

On this highlight Friday, The Family Effect would like to thank and acknowledge each Trustee Emeritus that serves on our board. Tracy Swinney, Michael Fee and Steve Grant have provided significant contributions to The Family Effect during their tenure on The Family Effect board. They have demonstrated exemplary service, and their fellow board members awarded them honorary status. Tracy, Michael and Steve continue to lead the way as community advocates, inspiring hope, healing families and eliminating addiction.

Thank you so much Soteria Community Development Corporation for the creation of the beautiful donation box you made for The Family Effect donations. This box will soon be located in the Greenville Triumph SC team store for donations of baby diapers, pacifiers, wipes, etc., to benefit the babies at Serenity Place.

This box was made by Soteria from wood that they have repurposed. We are so thankful to be partners with both Soteria Community Development Corporation and Greenville Triumph SC!

The theme of the 2024 Transformation breakfast was homecoming. The community, The Family Effect and the Phoenix Center reunited as family at the event. The Family Effect loved reconnecting with long time relations and welcoming new ones. We are beyond grateful for our sponsors, the event attendees, all those who worked behind the scenes and those who shared their powerful stories at the 2024 Transformation Breakfast. Together, we truly can inspire hope, heal families and eliminate addiction.
