The Center for Global Studies continues its mission to contribute in the exploration of problems and contradictions, both domestic and global.
Join us Tuesday January 30th at the TV Studio in Porter Hall, room 119, for a forum discussing the conflict in the Middle East. 5:30pm-7:00pm.
Speakers include Seham Kafafi, Notre Dame, Student Voices for Palestine
Dan Fischer, Jews Against Colonialism and Michiana Friends of Palestine.
Dr. Kathleen Tobin presented her recent research at the 94th Annual Meeting of the Indiana Academy of the Social Sciences (IASS) held at Indiana University-Kokomo. Her paper "Nuclear Bomb Protests: Women Taking Action, 1960s and Beyond" explored women's activism against nuclear bomb testing, comparing Women Strike for Peace activism in the early 1960s with the Greenham Common Women's Peace camp in the 1980s. Her work will appear in Women on the Pilgrimage to Peace (Cambridge Scholars Publishers), scheduled for publication in early 2024. Dr. Tobin currently serves on the Board of Directors of the IASS.

Advisory Board Member Dr. Mitra reports on his on-going research project!
Research News! Our own Dr. Amlan Mitra, Professor of Business Economics reports on his on-going research project, "Homeownership & Housing Affordability in Northwest Indiana." Dr. Mitra's research is funded by a Purdue Northwest Catalyst Grant and he will present his research at the MBAA International conference in Chicago in 2024.

Professor Kathy Tobin for Munster Town Council had a great time commemorating Constitution Day! She loves working with young people and hearing what they have to say. At her table, they talked about environmental issues they see in their towns, cities, and region, and agencies to contact for reporting or more information.
Come to Alumni Hall September 28th for refreshments and Civiche in Pittsburgh, a play written by Professor Jose Castro Urioste.
Dr. Castro Urioste is a Professor of Latin American Literature and cultures in the department of English and World Languages at PNW.
