It's always a joy to work in the Marshall Islands 🇲🇭 This week, our CEO Paul Hadik met with Her Excellency Dr. Hilda Heine, as well as PRELsters Evelyn Joseph and P**n Thanasin, to discuss PREL's ongoing work to support the development of career pathways that value and cultivate skills needed to support the economy and way of life in the Marshall Islands.
Fifteen HIDOE schools are participating in this year’s Young Entrepreneurs Program, which is designed to empower students in grades 6-12 to develop real-world profitable businesses that feature original locally sourced agricultural products.
The online marketplace is open until March 31. Products can be picked up at the KCC Farmer's Market on April 6, 2024 or at the specific school you are ordering from.

TeAda Productions is up to something new! "Nothing Micro About Micronesia" - a new theater production is in the works - is elevating stories of Micronesian community members is Hawaiʻi, explores themes of a sense of belonging and cultural adaptation. Motivated by the love of their island home and the lack of Micronesian literary works, Innocenta Sound-Kikku and Lissette Yamase wanted this book to help Micronesian children in the US struggling with identity and belonging. "Mwa Machang" (translation: "Hey Birdy") is the latest Chuukese childrenʻs book by Sound-Kikku and illustrated by Yamase.

Among the many resources arising from the broader community is a book titled “There was a fire: A story for young children on Maui” by Honolulu Community College early childhood assistant professor Elizabeth “Liz” Hartline. This resource helps caretakers and keiki find ways to acknowledge that it’s normal to feel sad, scared, or worried after events like the Maui fires.
