In play therapy toys are a child's words and play is their language. The power to interpret this language and be a voice for them is incredible! Tiffany does an amazing job and hearing her clients through play!

It's been almost a full year since my little practice has started. I continue to be blown away with the welcoming and positive energy shared by the Huntsville community that has helped bring awareness and support for children's mental health to light. My dreams of creating a safe place for children, adolescents, and families to grow together and love themselves has blossomed more than I could have ever imagined. I am beyond excited for the next steps that will allow this little practice to grow beyond its own dreams!!
I absolutely love this!! I know I'm a play therapist when I walk around the store with stickers on my face and glitter on my shirt...not realizing until after I get home 🤦♀️
"You Might Be a Play Therapist If" // National Play Therapy Week For National Play Therapy Week, hear many play therapists, including Eliana Gil, Janet Courtney, Jackie Flynn, Lisa Shadburn, Lisa Dion, Tammi Van Hollander,...
I am so honored and excited to have been able to be a featured article in this month's Southern Huntsville Neighbors magazine! This was a wonderful opportunity for me to share my knowledge of play therapy to the outstanding Huntsville community!
Anyone else feel like kids are always fighting?! Rather than us being a referee to their fights we should be a support and mentor to teaching our kids how to have healthy fights.

Therapy is hard when you can't see the progress instantly. It's like a bird growing feathers. At first the process in pulling free the pin feathers is hard, tedious, and at times painful. Overtime the feathers become stronger and more capable to take flight. Therapy doesn't make changes overnight but overtime your wings can spread and soar.
Gratitude is the most influential emotion we have. We should experience it more than once a month or only one day.

I love watching scary movies but not because I love getting scared. Rather I'm constantly thinking about how the villain might be a nicer person if they just got a hug! This relates to how we look at our kids when they are throwing a tantrum. Sometimes we have to look past the mask and give them a hug!
Give the Villain a Hug! Scary witches at your door, jack-o-lanterns smiling bright, and ghoulish ghosts on a fiendish glee. Can Halloween get much better?! I absolutely love Halloween. I think that there is a child in every one of us who is looking for that brightly-lit front porch and to possibly get a little fright. Hall...
Sometimes we get stuck in this thought that we have to be happy all the time. That happiness is what equals success. But sadness, or any other emotion, can help us along life's journey as well. In fact, it can be what makes the happiness shine brighter.
Did you roll out of bed this morning wishing it was already Friday? I did 🤦♀️
But we don't have to let Friday have all the good vibes. Let's stop waiting for Friday or whatever big adventure is coming up and enjoy today!
Stop Waiting for Friday Do you ever find yourself waiting for Friday? For the freedom that Friday brings. The fact that once Friday comes you have the next 48 hours to do whatever you please?! That Friday feeling is pretty exhilarating. But isn't there always something better right around the corner that we are waiting for...
What if we look at therapy like a house that is remodeled. The foundation is already there, therapy just helps you learn to embrace the flaws and add a fresh coat of paint.
Remodeling What Therapy Looks Like These past few weeks have been filled trying to remodel a small little old house into a perfect little office. Countless hours have been spent demolishing, sanding, painting, and rearranging. I found myself frustrated at times when it seemed that every obstacle that could be imagined was encountered...
There is often more to play than what meets the eye....
What is Play Therapy "You can learn more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation."-Plato The best part of my job is getting to see children learn to become happy and able to regulate their emotions. Play is a child's natural form of expression, I, therefore, use this to my advantage. Through pla...
