Meet Herman!
My owl, Herman, is a blue-collar road worker who works the night shift. He loves putting out the orange lane dividers, similar to what he is perched on in this project. He aspires to one day be able to direct traffic, while small in stature, he has a huge wingspan that would lend him well in such a job. Herman's favorite past-time is watching other people drive as he sits on his little orange roadblock, gossiping to the other workers on how poorly people drive. Naturally, his favorite band is The Who.

Meet Owl Loki!
Owl Loki is a time variant who was pruned for eating his brother Thor which in his universe is actually a mouse. Owl Loki’s goal is to not only rule over the skies, but also rule over the lands and waters of the Earth. However, his goal was cut short after fighting and eating his brother Thor, which caused an irregular shift in the Sacred Timeline and he was captured and sent to the void. Unlike normal owls, Loki has the ability to mimic the other traits and abilities of other birds, such as matching the speed of a peregrine falcon, or even gaining the ability to swim like a Puffin. Currently after escaping the void with a new tesseract, Owl Loki is on the run from the TVA and is traveling around Kennesaw to find a location to blend in and slowly plot and reach his goal. 👐

Meet Mandy!
Birthed from an experiment to make a new breed of animal that can conquer water, land, and air comes an owl fish hybrid named Mandy. They came from a lab in an unknown location so not much is known about their origin. They like to watch funny videos from people so they can learn more about the world. Mandy can survive in all locations, but their true wish is to be able to conquer space and travel the galaxy.

Meet Luna!
My owl’s name is Luna, her name is inspired by the colors on the back of her head and down her back. The gradient on the back of her head resembles the colors and gradients of a galaxy outer space. Luna is from Washington, D.C, where she sits outside the NASA headquarters. She serves a job as a security guard where she sits on a high branch of an oak tree, eyeing the back entrance into the building. Her special talent is that she has laser vision so she can zap someone who isn’t welcome intrudes into the building.
On her break time, she sneaks into the building undetected to view NASA’s photo galleries of all they have seen in space. From galaxies to stars to planets, Luna is fascinated by it all. She daydreams about space and what is like out there all day long, especially imagining herself as the first owl astronaut to travel to space. Luna’s goal is to sneak onto the next rocket traveling into space to secure that title. Although waiting for NASA to build rockets and conduct their deep research takes a lot of patience, Luna’s admiration for outer space keeps her excited each and every day.
Today's owl is from Kennesaw State School of Art and Design student Tatyana Gordon at Kennesaw State University.
Meet Majestic!
Majestic, the most beautiful owl of her family, is an owl with so much beauty that if anyone looks her way their jaws drop. She turns around to fly away and her orange flower design on her blue feathers is a shock no one expected. She is an extremely friendly owl with so much positivity. She loves meeting new friends.
Majestic belongs to a family full of royalty and she was awarded the title princess as her parents only daughter. She holds this title near to her heart and wants the best for her community. She is extremely interactive and looks out for each owl as if they are her family.
Majestic watches over the beautiful mountains of Kennesaw, Georgia. She loves when the air turns crisp for fall and enjoys being able to watch the leaves change. She sometimes sees tourists visiting the mountains as well and it makes her happy to know that people see the beauty too.
Today's owl is from Kennesaw State School of Art and Design student Monifah Darsaw at Kennesaw State University.
Meet Owletta!
Owletta, the fiercest owl of her kind, flies wherever she wants whenever she wants, and no one can tell her anything.
She spends most of her time at the nail salon, prepping for her day out on the town. She likes to drink smoothies, eat fruit salad, and vegetables but not meat! She enjoys attention and compliments on her feathers though she already knows how good they look and loves to rea
d books with a side of coffee to stay awake during the day.
Though Owletta is confident and bold, she is very quiet as she likes to focus on herself. Owletta usually keeps to herself, but it is said that if you offer her blue mascara and a good mystery book, she may talk to you for hours.
Today's owl is from Kennesaw State School of Art and Design student Chantelle Chapman at Kennesaw State University.
Meet The Carous-Owl!
Once upon a time, in a faraway village, there was a beautiful carousel. Unlike most ordinary, pony-filled merry-go-rounds, this one had been built in many stories, and gave a home to motley, gem-covered creatures of all kinds and sizes: from aardvarks to zebras, fish to birds and even to giant insects. It was a happy life for any carousel animal, but the happiest of them all was a little blue owl, who lived on the very highest tier.
Far above the ground, he and the other winged animals turned in tireless circles, spreading their glittering fins and feathers towards the cloudless sky and treasuring every chance to make a rider feel like they were really flying. Yet, even in that magical place, the sun did not always shine: one night, a storm blew through the village, and the tall carousel swayed perilously in the violent wind. Without warning, the blue owl was wrenched away from his perch and blown away into the night.
By the time morning came, the little Carous-Owl had been carried many many miles, and was hopelessly lost. He still had his wings, though: refusing to give up, he took to the sky, determined to find his way home. Since then, his travels have taken him all around the world. He has made many new friends and visited many lovely carousels. Still, he dreams of the day when he sees the horizon pierced by the gilded spire of his own fantastic home.

Meet Pacorro!
Pacorro is a little owl that is hidden throughout most of the year. They can rarely be seen at night leaving flower petals on people's driveways. Pacorro's favorite time of the year is the end of October and early November, right around Day of the Dead. During this time, they bless every veranda and give good luck to families with extravagant alters for their passed family members.
Pacorro loves humanity and always wants to give people a sense of comfort when it comes to death. At the end of the year, Pacorro enters the land of the dead and tells every family how their living relatives are doing. Be careful though, Pacorro sure does love to gossip.

Meet Luma!
Luma the Owl was once a princess of a distant owl planet, but she got lost amongst the stars and landed on our planet Earth! She currently resides in the snowy woods of Alaska, making friends with the other owls in the area.
Luma can be quite clumsy sometimes, but that’s ok! Her friends always got her back. She enjoys singing, dancing, stargazing, and making snow-owls. She hopes one day she’ll be able to see her parents again, and they’ll be proud of the owl that she has become.
Throughout her time on Earth, she realized that she wants to become a singer; there was no music or songs back on her home planet. Her goal is that once she returns home, she’ll be able to bring music along with her, and make her home planet a lively place.
Today's owl is from Kennesaw State School of Art and Design student Tinashe Makina at Kennesaw State University.
Meet Kennedy!
Kennedy is originally from Mutare, Zimbabwe located in the southern part of Africa. Currently, Kennedy works as a cyber security specialist at Google in California.
Some of his special interests are watching the sun go down, talking to his other owl friends, perfecting his cyber security work when he has the free time, knitting, and watching movies.
A future goal Kennedy has is to retire at an early age and move back to his home country to be with the rest of his family. A wish Kennedy has is to experience true joy. A dream Kennedy has is to pass on his wealth to the future generations of his expanding family.
Today's owl is from Kennesaw State School of Art and Design Chelsea "Chelly" Walton at Kennesaw State University
Meet Lapis!
Lapis was born in Thornnest to Cyan and Magenta. She was the youngest of four owlets (Crismon, Fern, and Fawn). Her species is called Hornet Silver Owl after their silver horns and talons shown. Growing up, she was a late bloomer as her wing’s hue did not develop until her late owlet years. As a result, Lapis was made fun for a month and made her feel self-conscious about them.
Her breed is well known for their colorful wings and white frontal area, i.e. their crown through their abdomen. She eventually sprouts out her gorgeous wings once she was comfortable around the things she loves. Her calming, soothing, cool blue made her a rarity among the Hornet Silver Owl community. So much so that one of the consul owls, Lilac, decide to be her mentor.
Lapis has two occupations: teaching owlets how to fly and draw. Her drawings allow her to express herself and report to the consuls if there are any alerting predators or shortage of food. She loves to be around owlets because of their youthful, naïve excitement about surviving in Thornnest. Aside from her occupation, Lapis loves to whistle throughout the night to help herself to sleep.
Originally, Lapis wanted to fly away from her own kind and disappear into the night sky, never to be heard from again. Occasionally, she still wishes to start on her own and never looking back. However, she knew realistically, that her parliament needed her more than anything to protect their species.
Lapis’s goal is to hopefully adopt a young owlet and guide him or her and to become the one of the head counsels to gather sympathy for those who are deemed as “weak” or “powerless”. 👐
Happy New Year! Today's owl is from Kennesaw State School of Art and Design student Emmanuel Nwoye at Kennesaw State University.
Meet Hortence!
Hortence Olivia Owl III was an unorthodox great horned owl that avidly supported Kennesaw State University’s School of Art and Design. After reaching twelve weeks of age on October 21st, 2005, she left her birth nest near Wi******er Forest in pursuit of a typical owl lifestyle. Unfortunately, she grew tired of her monotonous survival routine in her first year and opted to find other interesting activities that may pique her interests. A pass time she favored most was emulating the behavior of her less gifted siblings that needed to climb back up to the nest after falling out. She would always seek steeper surfaces to scale to the point of greatly strengthening her talon joints and beak, and eventual invented new ways of climbing to stave off the boredom as best as she could. Two years later, while venturing beyond her home forest in search for food, she discovered the city of Kennesaw and was immediately overwhelmed by the steel supported structures that easily dwarfed the tallest trees she could soar over or climb. Strangely, these new opportunities for vertical traversal were abandoned when she took notice of the many black and yellow illustrations sporting the likenesses of her Strigidae brothers and sisters.
Hortence eventually uncovered a treasure-trove of black and yellow accessories at Kennesaw State University, where she discovered the frequenting young adults seamlessly replicating the world around them on two-dimensional and three-dimensional mediums. She found this to be especially intriguing and positioned herself within their line of sight to see if she would be included. Unbeknownst to her, wild owls roosting so close to the bustling ground was quite the rarity, and many students seized the opportunity to make her a unique part of their compositions. After another year, the confidence she developed led her to strike many poses and angles to make these illustrations more exotic. She even incorporated her climbing techniques to pose on many different surfaces both leveled and steep. Though her decision to become such a model was partially motivated by the attention, she had immense respect for the still life artists that were skilled and patient enough to perfectly capture the natural beauty of a world cultivated by nature and crafted by humankind. Her hope is to serve as a stunning monument for even more inspired art students for as long as she can. To commemorate her kind gestures to the artists of Kennesaw State University, the owl I have painted utilizes regal violent and yellow colors to reflect how I view her among her kind.
Today's owl looks ready to celebrate New Year's Eve!
Meet Fletcher from Kennesaw State School of Art and Design student Jaime Rechy at Kennesaw State University.
Fletcher, a 1000-year-old owl vampire, took a trip away from Transylvania to visit a place where he knew he would fit in. Back at home he is the only owl vampire, where the others are all bats.
He wanted to find a place where he belonged, and after flying for a while he met a friend. He met another owl vampire, Scrappy, who was headed towards Kennesaw on October 30th. Scrappy told Fletcher that every year all the Owl vampires come to fly over the town on Halloween night.
Fletcher finally found a place where he wasn’t an outsider. It was a long journey for him to get to Kennesaw, but he made it, and found the family he was always looking for.
Today's owl is a sweetie from Kennesaw State School of Art and Design student Anngie Villegas at Kennesaw State University.
Meet Flor!
Flor, a colorful owl made at Kennesaw State University, was made to represent the beautiful culture of Mexico. Her creation took long hours of concentration and care.
Her head was painted to represent the Sugar Skulls used in the Mexican culture to decorate the tombs of loved ones during Day of the Dead. Due to this, Flor is drawn to anything sweet. She’ll follow any student that has sugar with them.
Finally, her body was painted to represent the Serape’s native to Mexico and as an outcome, when she does follow you, you’ll feel the warmth that serapes provide. Just be careful because she will steal your sweets.
