The LGBTQ+ Resource Center and Center for Young Adult Addiction & Recovery Present the Q***r Health series, a variety of educational meeting sessions dedicated to spotlighting how the intersections of identity and experience impact the well-being of LGBTQ+ folks!

From the three sessions happening this Fall semester, we have our first meeting NEXT MONDAY, September 9th from 12:30-1:30 PM in the Academic Learning Center Room 1200!

Happy International Non-Binary People's Day! 💛🤍💜🖤

This nationally recognized celebration works to shine a light on those who identify as non-binary and celebrates the expansive experiences of the community!

The LGBTQ+ Resource Center is hiring for new Federal Work Study Student Assistants for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year! 🌈😄

Today, June 28th, marks the 55th anniversary since the Stonewall Riots of 1969.

In addition to similar events occurring nationwide at the time, this momentous event shaped LGBTQ+ history and is why Pride is celebrated in June! 🌈

To add to the fun this Pride, make sure to join the LGBTQ+ Resource Center for its annual Stonewall Celebration: Pride on the Green NEXT THURSDAY (6/6) from 1:30-4:30 PM on the Kennesaw Campus Green!

Make sure to also join for their annual Drag Brunch on the Marietta Campus as well!

Happy Pansexual & Panromantic Visibility Day! This annual visibility celebration aims to spotlight and recognize those within the pan community!

In addition to celebrating Pan identities, Pansexual & Panromantic Visibility Day was established as a way to increase awareness of pan identities and to combat the stigma and prejudice towards the community.

Today, we celebrate the life of Harvey Milk! Harvey Milk Day is an annual celebration that is recognized as a day to remember and teach about Milk's life, his accomplishments, and his work in activism to stop discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community!

With Pride Month right around the corner, that means it's almost that time of year!

The LGBTQ+ Resource Center and the Unity Center present the annual Stonewall Celebration! Join us on Thursday, June 6th on both campuses for a day full of fun!

Enjoy good music, good food, and an even better performance at the Drag Brunch from 11 AM-1 PM in the JWM Student Center Ballrooms.

Then, head on over to the Kennesaw Campus for Pride on the Green from 1:30-4:30 PM. Bring a picnic blanket and some friends to enjoy games, arts + crafts, music, and more!

With a long history underrepresentation, erasure, and lack of presence in society and the media, Le***an Day of Visibility was created as an opportunity to spotlight and celebrate the contributions and empowerment of those within the le***an community.

THIS FRIDAY, April 11th, is the last Paper Pals event of the semester! Swing by the LGBTQ+ Resource Center Conference Room from 10 AM-12 PM for some drawing, crossword puzzles, and anything to give your brain some well-deserved rest before finals!

April 6th is International Asexuality Day! This annual event works to spotlight, celebrate, advocate, and raise awareness for folx within the Ace community!

The last OUT@Work session of the semester is happening NEXT THURSDAY, APRIL 11TH! Join us for a panel/Q+A session with members of the LGBTQ+ Resource Center's community partners and their pride collective groups.

Learn more about not only what these groups do and how they operate and contribute to an accepting work environment, but also our panelist's personal experiences and how they navigate the work field as an LGBTQ+ person or ally!

Although Women's History Month has ended, the LGBTQ+ Resource Center still wants to spotlight 5 wonderful books from our LGBTQ+ Library!

March is Bi+ Health Awareness Month!

This week centers the discussion of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and Power-Based Interpersonal Violence (PBIV) within the Bi+ community. The inclusion of LGBTQ+ identities, specifically those of the bi+ experience, in the overarching conversation around pertaining to domestic violence often fall through the cracks and are left out.

It is critical to make space for this information in research and to highlight the impacts it has on members of the Bi+ community

The LGBTQ+ Resource Center present our annual Rainbow Celebration! Join us on Thursday, April 25th at 5 PM to celebrate the hardwork and wonderful achievements of our 2024 graduates!

If you would like to be honored as a Rainbow Graduate (both Spring 2024 and Winter 2024), please fill out the RSVP form (also found in our bio) before the deadline of 12 PM on April 25th!

Our spotlight topic this week is centered on sexual health and awarenes among the Bi+ community. The exclusion of bi+ demographics within sexual health research has resulted in the increased risk of sexual health complications of individuals who identify as bisexual/pansexual/etc.

In honor of Bi+ Health Awareness Month, the LGBTQ+ Resource Center and Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery (CYAAR) invites you to 'Q***r Health' NEXT TUESDAY, March 26th!

Join us for a presentation and discussion spotlighting the health impacts that can occur within the LGBTQ+ community!

March is Bisexual+ Health Awareness Month!

This week is focused on the general health disparities faced by members of the bi+ community.

Due to the lack of visibility and inclusion within medical research, bi+ folks end up compromising their well-being, resulting in "striking rates of poor health outcomes ranging from cancer, sexually transmitted infections, and mental health problems" (Human Rights Campaign).

This week is celebrated annually with the purpose of creating visibility, and spreading awareness and acceptance of the Aromantic community and the challenges they face in society.

In honor of this celebration, the Aces & Aros community group will be hosting a meeting THIS FRIDAY (2/23) in the LGBTQ+ Resource Center conference room from 1-2 PM! Make sure to stop by and join the conversation about the Aromantic and Asexual community!
