After an amazing weekend we'd like to thank all the participants for this years Miss Phiota! By far one of our most successful night and we couldn't do it without the support of all of those that came out to the event! We'd like to announce Julia Pharmer from Sigma Delta Tau as this years Miss Phiota!

Three Kings Day, or “Feast of the Epiphany,” is celebrated in many parts of the world and marks the day on the Christian calendar when the magi brought gifts to the baby Jesus. Many Hispanic communities in the U.S. celebrate Three Kings Day with many different traditions.
On this day 85 years ago, the most profound historical event in the history of Latino Fraternities took place in Troy, NY. Delegates from Phi Lambda Alpha fraternity and Sigma Iota fraternity assembled with the objective of forming a strong and extensive fraternity to address the needs of Latin Americans in colleges and universities across the U.S.

We'd like to give a shout out to our Alpha line today as Jose "Don F.M.A." Cortez graduates with his bachelors in Paralegal Studies! He spent three and a half years at Kent State University and is currently in the process to work in a law firm as a paralegal.
During a historic ceremony that took place in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. inducted seven-year-old Jax Atrin Rivera-Mayorga into its brotherhood as the youngest individual to ever join a Latino Greek-lettered organization and possibly any fraternal organization.

The Kent State Colony of Phi Iota Alpha proudly celebrates the diversity of our school. It came to our attention that over the weekend, discriminatory comments were chanted towards the S.A.L.S.A. organization during the homecoming parade. We are deeply ashamed that members of our student body would say such hurtful remarks. We stand in solidarity with all affected.
