📣 SEEKING APPLICANTS 📣 to join APPA's Training and Accreditation Committee
APPA is seeking volunteers to serve on its Training and Accreditation Committee. This committee is primarily responsible for reviewing curricula (eLearning offerings) of APPA’s partner entities, to ensure all are in alignment with APPA’s standards and meets the threshold for accreditation. The committee also reviews APPA’s online learning offerings and provides feedback to the Professional Development Manager.
Those interested in serving on this committee should:
• Have a background in training, education, professional development, etc.
• Be willing to learn and implement the committee’s standards for developing a tool to approve/accredit agency’s educational and training content
• Have previous/current work experience in community corrections (pretrial, probation, parole)
• Be familiar with basic curriculum development and adult education concepts
• Be a good standing APPA member
Requirements
• A minimum two-year commitment as a committee member.
• Attend in-person and virtual meetings.

Fifteen leaders will be selected through an open and competitive process to participate in this invaluable experience. The visit, scheduled for Tuesday to Wednesday, December 10 – 11, 2024 will include travel expenses, meals, lodging, and materials, thanks to the generous support of the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Participants are expected to arrive on December 9 and depart in the late afternoon on December 11.
Applications are open until Monday, September 30, 2024. Selected participants will work with the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s travel agent to arrange travel plans.
