Today, we recognize Juneteenth and celebrate freedom. On this day in 1865, federal troops arrived in Galveston, TX, to enforce freedom for all enslaved people. The NBA is closed today in observance of this federal holiday.

Thanks to Congressman Don Bacon, Congressman Mike Flood and Rep. Adrian Smith for supporting the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act (H.R. 5403) which passed the House today.

The supposed advantages of a CDBC are uncertain, but the costs would be significant, including introducing unnecessary risks into the financial system.

For five weeks in January and February, NBA staff volunteered as "soup-er chefs" for weekly soup lunches. Staff paid to sample the soups as a fundraiser for The Gathering Place (a program of Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties) and Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach.

Thank you to everyone who participated! We're proud to help support these outstanding organizations.
