Our Street Outreach Program is honored to have received the Nebraska Homeless Shelter Assistance Trust Fund Award! This award celebrates the extraordinary accomplishments and outstanding leadership in housing and support services for youth in our community.

Through our Street Outreach Program, we’re proud to have made 7,193 street outreach contacts and provided intensive services to 283 youth and young adults in Lincoln in 2023. Even more, 97% of these recipients gained safe, stable housing upon their exit from the program.

Congratulations to our Street Outreach team for receiving this outstanding award! We are so grateful for your commitment to be here for kids. 💙

Wear Blue Day 💙 CEDARS Street Outreach and Bridges Housing team!

Due to the dangerously low temperatures over the next several days, CEDARS Youth Opportunity Center will be open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. All youth are welcome to come in, warm up, and access resources like food, water, and other supports.

November is National Runaway and Homeless Youth Prevention Month—and today is Wear Green Day! CEDARS staff from our Youth Opportunity Center are sporting green to help raise awareness and stand in solidarity to end youth homelessness.
In Nebraska today, there are hundreds of kids that are experiencing homelessness. At CEDARS, we believe that every kid deserves safety and stability—and we've developed a variety of programs tailored to meet the needs of kids that have no other safe place to spend the night.
Recently, we were awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide Street Outreach Services to youth experiencing homelessness in Omaha. We are so honored for this opportunity to be able to serve not only the kids in Lincoln who are unhoused, but also those in the Omaha area.

In preparation for the heat wave hitting Lincoln this week, our Youth Opportunity Center hours have been extended! Drop by our 1620 N Street location to cool off, get hydrated and stock up on essentials.

We will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 AM-6 PM. If you need assistance outside of the hours listed, please call the CEDARS intake line at 402-436-5437 to be put in contact with our Street Outreach team!

Six years ago today the Youth Opportunity Center opened the doors to young people in need of assistance. Today, the YOC continues to help young people with a safe place, a warm meal, laundry, hygiene items and much more. We appreciate the support we've received from the community and look forward to many more years of helping youth in Lincoln.

CEDARS Street Outreach Services is in desperate need of bike pumps for youth!

Oftentimes, kids ride their bikes to CEDARS Youth Opportunity Center because their bikes are the only mode of transportation they have—even during the winter.

We’d like to give these kids a bike pump of their own, so their bikes are more reliable for them. If you are able to make a donation, please call 402-434-5437 or you can drop off your donation at CEDARS at 6601 Pioneers.

•Mondays: 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
•Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
•Fridays and Saturdays: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
•Closed Sundays
