Happy birthday to Dorothy Andersen, MD! Dr. Andersen was the first person to identify cystic fibrosis in 1938, changing the lives of thousands of people in the process.

As we say goodbye to our esteemed colleague and friend, Dr. Eric Hamberger we can't help but feel a sense of sadness. However, we are also excited for the new adventure that awaits him and look forward to continuing our collaboration with him on research projects at his new center. We will always treasure the memories we made together and wish him all the best on his new journey.

👩‍⚕️Angel Maree Jones is the Clinical Nutrition Supervisor at UCLA Health Santa Monica and part of the CF inpatient team for both adults and pediatric patients. Angel has a passion for sustainable living, growing food, and utilizing evidenced based methods to empower patients to make educated decisions in regards to their health. Angel also works with food service to bring healthy, sustainable, and plant-forward options to patients and staff. Angel is a firm believer that nutrition should be individualized for each patient to build sustainable healthy lifelong behaviors.

💜Angel is an active member of the Cystic Fibrosis Nutrition community and completed a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Mentorship in 2019 matching with UCSF. She has been invited to speak on CF Nutrition at several events including at the 2020 California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the 2020 & 2021 UCLA Cystic Fibrosis Symposiums, and to the UCLA GI Fellows. She also participated in the guideline review of the 2020 update of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Evidence Analysis Library for cystic fibrosis nutrition recommendations. At the 34th NACFC she presented the poster presentation, "Nutritional algorithm to improve BMI of CF patients at nutritional risk/failure" and will be a moderator at the 2022 NACFC.

📚In her free time, Angel loves a good book with a glass of wine, sunbathing with her cat Toulouse, and has a goal each year to read at least 120 novels. When she is not reading, she is tending to her garden growing herbs and vegetables, or can be found at the beach enjoying the vitamin D. She also loves bowling, going to the Hollywood Bowl, and her family vacations are most likely to be at a Star Wars Celebration.
