Dirt City Music delivering instruments to Milestones for music therapy.

We visited Milestones today and learned about this incredible learning facility and some of the programs they offer. Thanks to YOU, we dropped off over $300 in music instruments for their classes. We're working closely with Paula and Jennifer to continue to provide instruments on an ongoing basis as the curriculum changes and things get worn out.

When we learned the murals in the place are done by a blind artist, the project really took a turn. This place is full of blessings and we can't be more excited to partner with Milestones in bringing music education and therapy to our community.

The first load of instruments headed to Milestones for their new Music Therapy program is in. We'll get the board rounded up and get these delivered. Thank you so much to all that have donated for this project. These instruments will impact hundreds of individuals in our community.

We are sill taking donations to help fill the needs of this program. Donations are tax deductible and stay right here in Lubbock County! We've got a little more money in the bank for this one, but the drums that are needed are rather expensive and we could use about $400 more for the purchase of 3 specialized drums.

We're waiting on pricing from Tarpley's for instruments that are going to Milestones for the music therapy program and music classes. We'll update with pictures when we deliver the goods.

We'd also love to see plenty of li al supporters this Thursday for a special touring School of Rock performance!

The Powerful Impacts Of Music For Those With Learning Difficulties - New Directions Playing or singing music is great for people with learning impairments because it helps them to express themselves, develop relationships, and benefit from social contact.

Hey friends!

We are backing a special cause and need your help. We are assisting to equip a new music therapy program that is coming to our community in July. This program will have a major impact on special needs children in our area, while also being available to all people in the community. We are trying to purchase a number of instruments for use in the program.

We are needing to have these by late July so this fundraiser will wrap up right after the 4th of July Holiday. While we would love to blow the goal out of the water and really outfit this program, if everyone on our page simply donated $5 to this fundraiser we would meet our $1500 goal.

We encourage you all to stop by the School of Rock Lubbock showcase this weekend at Jake's Sports Cafe & Backroom. You can see our scholarships in action as these kids rock out over 2 days.

We've got a great opportunity to help build a new Music Therapy Program here in Lubbock with Milestones. They've contracted with a therapist and are needing some special instruments to use in the sessions and classes. While these sessions will be available to everyone in the community, Milestones has a particular impact on young people with special needs. Our ultimate goal is to raise $1000 in the next 10 days to provide virtually everything on their needs list. However, if we can hit $500 for this special project, we would be able to make a huge dent in their list in advance of the late July start date.
