Sarah Malpartida works with CareEQUIP by OrphanWise in Southeast Tennessee to provide TBRI® training for organizations and families.

She is currently working mostly with school administrators and staff on how to create trauma-informed classrooms.

“Oh my goodness, where to start! TBRI® has been a game-changer in my personal relationships, especially with my husband. We use redos ALL THE TIME. We are consistently asking one another when was the last time we ate when we notice the other getting cranky. I just wish this resource had been so widely available 20 years ago when my parents were adopting. Knowing how beneficial this could have been to my family has made me incredibly passionate about sharing this resource with caregivers now.” -Sarah

We are glad that you are using TBRI® to make a difference in your community! Keep up the good work, Sarah!

Stephanie Shivers is the Administrator of The Village House, a transitional home in Franklin, Tennessee owned by Church of the City.
She provides safe haven and support for individuals. Her passion extends beyond The Village House as she also serves as a community trauma trainer. Stephanie’s mission is to dismantle the stigma surrounding mental health and the lasting effects of trauma. She believes in fostering empathy by reframing the conversation from “what’s wrong with you” to “what happened to you.”

In 2016, Stephanie completed her TBRI® practitioner training through a Show Hope scholarship. Meeting Dr. Purvis, the developer of TBRI®, was a moment she’ll never forget. TBRI® equipped her with powerful tools, and it has been a game changer for her in every way as it has had a profound effect on both her personal approach and her professional effectiveness. Stephanie has trained hundreds of individuals and families in TBRI® and trauma recognition. Witnessing the positive changes and the deeper connections fostered through this knowledge is what truly motivates her.
We are grateful for the work you are doing, Stephanie!

Connecting Principles assist children in cultivating trust and forming meaningful relationships. To help us connect with those around us, we can do that by using two strategies, Mindfulness and Engagement.
