We are so inspired by the amazing families, businesses, and charities that came together at the Helen James Foundation Golf Tournament to help change the future of bereavement care. πŸ’™ Pictured here are the proud grandfathers of baby Helen James and Miles from Miles’ Mission , both working tirelessly to ensure that no family is left without the compassionate bereavement care they deserve.

Did you know the CuddleCot gives grieving families the gift of time? It allows parents to hold their baby while creating precious memories, ensuring families have the time they need to travel, visit, and make arrangements. Using flexible cooling pads, the CuddleCot gently cools pre- and full-term babies in any cot or bassinet without refrigerant gases.

🌟 Celebrating Compassionate Care with the Helen James Foundation 🌟

We are deeply inspired by the incredible work of the Helen James Foundation, which is making a profound difference in the lives of families across US hospitals. Through their unwavering commitment to compassionate bereavement care, they have facilitated the placement of numerous CuddleCots, allowing families precious time with their baby, and hospitals to offer a higher level of bereavement care.

Other incredible initiatives include:

πŸ₯ The Helen James Bereavement Room: The Helen James Bereavement Room at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville stands as a testament to their commitment. This space is designed to provide a comforting environment for families during their time of grief.

πŸ“š The Helen James Library: The Helen James Library is another remarkable initiative, offering resources and support to families and professionals, ensuring that compassionate care continues even beyond the hospital walls.

Thank you, Helen James Foundation, for your dedication and for honoring Helen James’s legacy by enhancing care for families. Your efforts truly transform the bereavement experience and offer solace to those in need.

A friend of mine introduced me to the phrase "God wink" and it makes me smile everytime I experience it. HJF hosted a trunk show in the Washington DC area in April. A few days before the show, I was introduced vie email to a mom, Alyssa, who delivered and then lost her baby just the week prior to a devaststing diagnonsis that was discovered during her pregnancy. Alyssa is from Memphis and now lives in the DC area in Virginia. Once we connected, I told her that coincidentally I would be in town later that week for an HJF fundraiser and would love to meet her. This felt like God's divine timing and "wink" at its best.

It was so amazing to meet Alyssa and give her a hug and talk all about our baby girls, Helen and Annie. I was in awe of her strength and courage and am so thankful from the made the connection. Alyssa expressed interest that she and her husband wanted VHC, the hospital where Annie was born to have a Cuddle Cot. HJF is honored to donate the Cuddle Cot in memory of Annie and grateful that the VHC was willing to accept and use it to help loss families.

Our donations are possible because of our generous supporters who continue to donate year after year. Your support enables us to help families across the country and we could not do it without you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.πŸ’—

Six years. How is it possible? I sometimes naively still think we might wake up from this horrible dream. I take myself back to June 4 and replay every memory I have on our last day with Helen. What if I had noticed that she wasnt moving sooner? What if we called our doctor sooner? What if what if what if? From the moment the after hours nurse told us to head to the ER, to the on call doctor pulling up the monitor and showing us that she was gone, it all feels like an alternate reality. But it is not. This is our reality. Our daughter died and it is something we live with every second of every day.
But, as you all know, that is not the the end of Helen James' story or ours. Helen continues to amaze us daily with the work she is doing here on earth through the Helen James Foundation. She is helping countless families cope with the unimaginable and we are just thankful to be stewards of her work. HJF has helped us heal, accept and move forward and for that we are grateful.
Today, we celebrate Helen's beautiful soul and praise God for the honor of a lifetime to be called Helen's mom and dad. We love our Helen JamesπŸ’— 6.5.18.

We had an amazing week supporting the Jimmy Rane Foundation in Montgomery, Alabama. The Foundation was established in 2000 with the purpose of sending deserving students to college. Since then, JRF has awarded over 700 scholarships to well-deserving students. The Helen James Foundation was honored to help sponsor the annual banquet and golf tournament and we look forward watching the success of the recipients for years to come! Visit jimmyranefoundation.org to learn how you can help make a difference in these students' lives.

An incredible evening with in Houston, TX. The work these moms are doing to support those who have experienced the unimaginable is absolutely remarkable. It was so special to hear from families who have been impacted by MOHA and I cannot think a better way to have spent National Bereaved Mother's Day. We had the opportunity to meet with one of the founders of as well as the team (my sister!!). I continue to be in awe of what all people are doing to make a difference in this arena. It's amazing what we can do when we put our heads together and work towards a common goal. Thank you !! πŸ’—

I had the opportunity of a lifetime to meet the founder of the Cuddle Cot device, Steve Huggins. Steve and his coworker who are based in the UK, developed the Cuddle Cot and initially helped a woman they knew who lost her baby. They continued to evolve the device over the years and the rest is history. Cuddle Cots are now available worldwide with their largest presence in the UK and Australia.

Steve is such a compassionate, loving and humble man. I kept telling him how amazing he is and he only wanted to focus on those who are building awareness about the Cuddle Cots, not himself. He is the ultimate definition of selfless. It was incredible moment to meet and thank him for the work he has done so that we could have three precious days with our beautiful Helen. I aasured Steve HJF will continue our efforts to honor Helen and place Cuddle Cots throughout the United States and beyond. Thank you to all of supporters who help us with such important and critical work. We are changing lives together one day at a time!πŸ’—

🌸 Thanks to the awesome team at the Helen James Foundation , the Northwestern Prentice Hospital in Chicago, now has an additional CuddleCot 🫢

πŸ’™ Sadly, 5000 babies die every day around the world, and hospitals are in desperate need of multiple CuddleCots to give grieving families the gift of time with their babies.

Thanks to the hard work of organisations like the Helen James Foundation, families are able to hold their baby after they've died, and create precious memories they can treasure.

The CuddleCot is a unique device, that allows families not only to have their baby with them at home or in the hospital, but importantly to hold their baby after they've died thanks to its innovative design.

Does your hospital have enough CuddleCots?

Joel and attended a Donor Appreciation Dinner honoring Philanthropic Leadership on behalf of the Texas Health Resources in November. Texas Health has been an incredible parnter for HJF and has allowed us to expand our footprint throughout the North Texas area. We met other donors who care deeply about the TX organization and were able to share with them about the Helen James Foundation. One of our main goals is to build awareness around pregnancy and infant loss + infertility and how prevalent they are and this event was a great opportunity to do just that. In addition, we were fortunate enough to hear the Bush twins speak about their support of Texas Health and all that they are doing to help make the world a better place. It was truly such an amazing evening and we are thankful to be a part of the Texas Health community. πŸ’—

Joel and I had the honor of touring the newly renovated Margot Perot Center for Women and Infants at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. The renovations include enlarged rooms, reconfigured space, and added amenities for families before, during, and after childbirth. The labor and delivery unit, operating rooms, and clinical areas were all part of the refresh, as were common areas, outdoor spaces, and lounges.

The Helen James Foundation is so proud to partner with the Texas Health Resources Foundation in this endeavor. We are truly in awe of what they are doing to provide the utmost care to women and infants. To see Helen's name on the wall brings both tears of joy and sorrow to our eyes. We are so proud of Helen's legacy and for the way she is helping families cope with the unimaginable. All of our efforts would not be possible without our donors and supporters, so from the bottom our hearts, thank you!
And thank you to Texas Health for all that you are doing to provide excellent care. We are honored to be a part of the journey. πŸ’—
