The Gentlemen's League
All-male mentorship program seeking to cultivate joy in schools and life through mentoring. WE ARE . . . The program will serve middle school students.
A dropout prevention intervention/ mentorship program for minority young boys "at-risk" of dropping out of school and/or choosing a life of crime. A PROMISE OF SUCCESS . . . When students enter the program, they are guaranteed a chance to attend college or advance through a potpourri of post-secondary opportunities geared toward the next level of education. Mentors from the program assist students
We are on track to achieve our 10-year goal of implementing our school-based mentoring model in various educational communities across Memphis-Shelby County, Tennessee, and nationwide. We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone: a new partnership with Gestalt Community Schools to introduce our mentoring model across all their elementary and middle school campuses. This expansion is a promising step forward, promising to profoundly impact the students and communities we serve.

Check out todayโs school spotlight: The Wells Station Elementary! The Wells Station Gents achieved a 3.26 GPA in Quarter 4 and had zero behavior infractions. They saw an 8% increase in GPA from Quarter 1 to Quarter 4! ๐

The Dexter Gents had zero behavior infractions in Q4 and saw a 22% decrease in absences from Q1 to Q4. Plus, their GPA increased by 7% in the same time frame. Way to go, Dexter K-8!

This quarter, students had a 3.50 GPA and Downtown's gents had zero behavior infractions all year. Plus, there was a 17% increase in GPA from Q1 to Q4. Keep up the great work, Downtown Elementary!

Todayโs School Spotlight! Celebrate the amazing achievements of Power Center Academy Elementary School Hickory Hill! With a 3.29 GPA in Quarter 4, they saw a 9% increase from Quarter 1. And with 47 boys of color in the program (our largest elementary school site), there was a remarkable 52% decrease in absences from Quarter 1 to Quarter 4. Keep up the great work, PCA!

๐ We're proud to announce the recipients of the 2024 Carter-Moss Black Male Scholarship, which honors the late grandfathers of Dr. Archie Moss, Jr., Founder and Executive Director of The Gentlemen's League. Bishop Benjamin F. Carter and Lawrence Moss profoundly impacted Dr. Moss's life and this scholarship perpetuates their legacy of guidance and support.
Meet our outstanding scholars, boasting an average GPA of 4.44:
-Khari Reed, from Memphis T-Stem East High School, will be attending Georgia Tech to study Business Administration with a focus in Finance.
-Noah Anderson, from Middle College High School at CBU, is set to pursue a degree in Food Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
-Ryan Neely, from St. Benedict at Auburndale High School, will study Business Administration at Louisiana State University.
-Malik Turner, also from Memphis T-Stem East High School, will be attending North Carolina A&T State University to study Mechanical Engineering.

This weekend, over 200 young visionaries registered for the transformative 4th Annual Boys of Color Conference. The day began with music from DJ 2-3, a breakfast by King's Touch, and empowering words from the renowned music producer, IMAKEMADBEATS. His inspiring message reminded every attendee: "You are your greatest asset. Cherish and nurture yourself; you are the BAG!" The day unfolded into enriching sessions, fueling the minds of our Gents as they embarked on their journeys forward.
