The National Science Foundation (NSF) has funded many AMATYC initiatives (https://amatyc.org/page/AMATYCSupportedGrants). Recent projects include Teaching for Prowess (TfP), Two-Year College Data Science Initiative (TYCDSI), and Facilitating Accessibility in STEM for Students with Disabilities at Two Year Colleges Workshop.
On May 16, the House Appropriations Committee announced top line numbers for fiscal year 2025, recommending that non-defense funding, including funding to the NSF, be cut by 6%.
The American Mathematical Society has put together a website with further information and ways to contact your representatives. Please consider writing to your elected officials encouraging them to restore funding to the NSF.
