After participating in the Power to the Period Campaign in 2016, Alpha Gamma Xi Sorority, Inc’s S.H.E.R.O. Initiative Program decided to develop a similar program for our organization.
Many of the 3.5 million Americans who experience homelessness each year have extremely limited access to period products (pads, tampons, etc.). In fact, period products are some of the most needed items in homeless shelters across the country.
We will be collecting period products until the 3Oth of April through various POC’s across the country. (please see flyer for details). With your help, we can garner enough products to donate to shelters that our members have adopted through out the United States. Together we can make a difference.

At least three deserving families will receive gift cards in the amount of $250 (each).
Nominations begin November 15th
Nominations end December 3rd
Recipients will be announced on December 16th.
Military families are priority; however, civilian families may be nominated as well.

The SHERO Initiave strives to empower the Sorors of Alpha Gamma Xi Military Sorority Inc. to be unparalleled in their service to the women veteran community. To organize philanthropic projects that will identify women veterans in need of assistance. To bridge the gap for homeless, at-risk and/or displaced women veterans with appropriate support such as housing, health care and community support. To partner with housing providers, employers, community based non-profits and federal, state and local agencies to augment employment and housing options. We are committed to eradicating homelessness in the women veteran sector.
As we devote to make a difference in in reaching our goal of eradicating women veteran homelessness, may we ask that you consider supporting our S.H.E.R.O Initiative. Funds will be used to expand and enhance our existing program. The S.H.E.R.O Initiative relies on the generous support of donors like you. This year alone, S.H.E.R.O has been able to help women veterans from becoming displaced and also award deserving families much needed assistance for the holidays.
