Since 2001, Jerry and I have organized 22 golf tournaments in Memphis TN to benefit the research efforts of the PKD Foundation. Along with friends, family, and generous supportive sponsors we have collectively raised more than $2 million for PKD research. Despite our best efforts to continue hosting this wonderful event, our relocation to FL in 2022 has challenged our ability to continue building sponsor and team participation that are both required and necessary for a successful event. We therefore have made the difficult decision to step away from the event that started it all, and rather focus our energy more wisely on building the momentum we began last November in Sarasota FL with the PKD Foundation Applied Underwriters Invitational at Sara Bay County Club. At the end of the day, all emotions aside, our focus has to be about improving the quality of life for our PKD community. So, even though we will no longer be physically golfing in Memphis, our fundraising to continues! This week marks the 23rd anniversary of my diagnosis of Polycystic Kidney Disease (pkd). As a result of trying to make sense of that frightening time of uncertainty in our lives, for the past 22 years Jerry and I have dedicated our time, energy and resources to helping the PKD Foundation raise funds for research to help find treatments and cure for PKD.
