When we see our kids in their worst behavior, there is always an unmet need driving that behavior. The best thing we can do is work on our own self regulation to be able to pause when these behaviors arise and take a step back to realize this isn't about us and instead identify where the need is. Using the tools like Special Time and Roughhousing to build connection and keep your kids' cup replenished is a great focus. Additionally, implementing daily meditation for ourselves is the number one way we can create better self regulation to pause in those challenging moments and take the reaction out of the situation so we can focus on the response instead.
