Milwaukee Fire Department
The department's motto is "Courage, Integrity and Honor." The MFD was established January 1, 1875.
The Milwaukee Fire Department, also known as the MFD, is the primary fire suppression, prevention, rescue and emergency medical service for the City of Milwaukee. The department consists of 29 Fire Stations, 29 Engines, 8 Trucks, 12 Paramedic Units, and one fire boat called The Trident.
Looking for fireworks this 4th of July? We recommend leaving it to the pros. Just a reminder, fireworks are illegal in the City of Milwaukee, and you could expect fines of up to $1,000 or, even worse, bodily injury. There are many parks within the city limits participating in fireworks, so visit https://city.milwaukee.gov/DCD/BoardsCommissions/July4th to find a location near you!

What an awesome group! Way to go everyone!
As you all know, many of the children in Milwaukee especially in our Milwaukee Public Schools struggle with reading and spelling from a very young age. Studies have shown that students who are not reading proficient by the end of their third grade are four times more likely to drop out of high school.
This is why I am reaching out to you. Please read the attached documents and watch the attached video. Forward Scholars began in 2022 serving 5 MPS schools and has grown to serving 180 students in 7 MPS school this past school year. They are looking for dedicated, motivated and caring people who would be willing to volunteer 45 minutes twice a week to tutor a child in need. This program have measurable records of success for these children but they need people like us to help as they continue to grow.
Chief Lipski and our Department supports this program. Please consider volunteering your time to help a child in need. If you know of any active or retired member of our Department who you feel would love to be part of this project, please feel free to pass the information along.

Also, here's a great video short that describes their work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G71OZGfHkGY

It's Automotive Service Professionals Day…THANK YOU to our MFD Shop family who keep our engines running!
The mechanics at the shop are dedicated to keeping the rigs running, old and new, day and night, so our crews can respond without hesitation knowing the rigs will get them safely to the next event of the day, and function effectively upon arrival.
This dedicated group of team players do it with expertise, honor, and commitment to the mission of the department; they investigate and innovatively produce solutions to get the crews back in the saddle. They, along with the supporting Shop personnel, work congruently to be an integral force in creating positive outcomes in every situation in which the MFD is called to serve.
THANK YOU MFD MECHANICS and supporting Shop personnel for keeping TEAM MFD moving in the right direction every day, and often under extreme circumstances. Crews count on the rigs and all the tools of the trade to be in excellent working order, and your teamwork, ingenuity, and commitment do just that!
