Russel Wyman (Local 1145), Chris Brown (Local 471), and Scott Wilkie (Local 638) from the Teamsters Joint Council #32 Futures Committee, spent the morning at Blaine High School’s career day.

Lots of young people already have plans to enroll in apprenticeship programs or employment at Union jobs. Having respect on the job and guaranteed wages/hours were the two biggest concerns entering the workforce in the conversations we had. Having a Teamsters contract can solve both of those issues. 👊

Our UPS part-timers were outside enjoying the weather while reminding everyone about our general membership meetings this Monday!

It’s Mental Health Awareness week at UPS in Maple Grove, MN! Teamsters Local 638 President Jonathon Kycek spoke on his story of battling bipolar disorder and taking suicidal thoughts head on.

He encouraged members to speak up if they or their loved ones are experiencing mental health struggles or suicidal thoughts, telling them, “you’ve already survived your worst day ever, and you can make it through today as well!”

Monthly Membership Meetings begin again this month ONE WEEK from today.

A fun addition to meetings going forward will be dinner for all those who attend as well as a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds from the meal and raffle will go towards the Local 638 Women's Committee and their efforts to internally and externally organize women in Union labor.
