Hope and connection are two powerful tools that can make a difference in someone's life.

✨ Hope reminds us that brighter days are ahead, even when things feel dark. It's the foundation of mental wellness and helps us see beyond our struggles.

🤝 Connection with others strengthens our resilience and builds a supportive community. Together, we can lift each other up and create a network of care and understanding.

🧡 Self-care is essential for maintaining hope and connection. Investing in yourself helps you stay strong and connected to those who care about you.

💬 Reach out if you're struggling. You are not alone, and there are people ready to support you. Whether it's a friend, family member, or a professional, talking about your feelings can be a powerful first step.

📞 If you need someone to talk to, call us at 913-268-0156, dial 988, or text 741-741. We’re here for you 24/7/365.

Let's come together this month and every month to support each other, spread kindness, and build a community where everyone feels valued and heard. 💚

September is almost here - the perfect time to set intentions that align with the changing season and support our mental well-being.

🌻 Embrace Change and Support Others: As the season shifts, reflect on areas in your life where change is needed and extend that reflection to supporting those around you. Be open to conversations about mental health and offer a listening ear to those who may need it.

🌻 Nourish Your Body and Mind: With the cooler weather, focus on warming, nourishing foods and activities that promote mental well-being. Incorporate practices like journaling, meditation, or mindful eating to strengthen both physical and mental health.

🌻 Create Cozy, Safe Spaces: As the days grow shorter, dedicate time to making your home a warm, inviting, and emotionally safe space. Whether it’s through decluttering or adding autumnal decor, aim to create an environment that fosters a sense of peace and security, which can be especially important during Su***de Prevention Month.

🌻 Reconnect with Nature and Your Community: Spend time outdoors to appreciate the beauty of the changing leaves and crisp air. Let this connection to nature inspire you to also reconnect with your community, whether by participating in local Su***de Prevention Month events or simply checking in on loved ones.

🌻 Reflect, Release, and Advocate for Hope: Use the symbolism of falling leaves to let go of anything that no longer serves you and make space for new growth. During Su***de Prevention Month, set intentions to advocate for hope and connection, whether by sharing resources, educating yourself and others, or simply being there for someone in need.

September is both Su***de Prevention Month and National Recovery Month, making it a crucial time to focus on mental health and wellness. Keep an eye out for our upcoming content as we highlight the importance of hope, connection, and recovery🧡

No one should stand alone in our fight to end overdose.

While every individual action matters greatly, coming together as an international community creates a powerful collective action. One that moves us with greater speed toward our shared goal of preventing, and ultimately, ending all overdoses.

For people who use drugs and those who don’t. For heartbroken friends and family members of lost loved ones. For activists who fight for sorely needed policy reform. For healthcare and harm reduction workers. For tireless advocates. Overdose can affect anyone, and we encourage you to remember the tenacity of our community. Lean into the power that we can have when we work together.

This August 31, reach out and connect with others in your local community and join the global IOAD movement. Our collective voices are stronger, louder, and the most impactful when brought together.

Let’s remember, together, we can end overdose.

New youth crisis stabilization center to provide youth services in Johnson County 08/27/2024

Staff at Johnson County Mental Health Center say helping youth in crisis is one of the most significant gaps in mental health care.

Too often, youth in need of mental health services are brought to the detention facility or admitted to a hospital. But now there’s a safe place young people can go when they experience a mental health crisis: a Youth Crisis Stabilization Center.

Let's also commit to supporting the mental health of all women. From advocating for mental health parity to promoting self-care, every action counts. Together, we can break down barriers and build a world where every woman has access to the support they need.
