Distinguished Young Women of NH is a scholarship program which empowers young ladies Scholarships are awarded on both the state and national level.
The Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program aims to reward and recognize girls in their senior year of high school. The Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program has five phases of competition:
Scholastics (25% of overall score)
Interview (25% of overall score)
Talent (20% of overall score)
Fitness (15% of overall score)
Self-Expression (15% of overall score)

The Distinguished Young Women Program is more than just an on-stage competition. Participation in the program makes you a lifelong member of a sisterhood and part of a network of women who believe in the program and all it stands for! While the national competition is underway and this week has been full of rehearsals, there has still been tons of fun had by our DYW Class of 2024. Check out Kylie and the rest of the class enjoying staple sponsor meals at Wintzell's Oyster House, Saucy Q Bar B Que, the Carnival Museum in Mobile, the Women's Forum, and the Sponsor's party earlier this week!

Yesterday, the DYW Class of 2024 enjoyed another DYW tradition - a beach day at Dauphin Island! The state representatives got to enjoy some fun in the sun as they get ready for their final week in Mobile and prepare to go from sand to stage for the national finals June 27th, 28th, & 29th!
Kylie is enjoying this beautiful time in Mobile, especially with her roommate - DYW of Minnesota and her host mom! Getting ready for another fun filled week!

Yesterday, Kylie enjoyed another DYW tradition - visiting and touring the USS Alabama with a BBQ dinner and line dancing! It looks like she had a blast!

The national program for Distinguished Young Woman is the "Be Your Best Self" Program. At the state level, representatives share about the BYBS program to children across their state. While at the national experience, there is a day dedicated to the BYBS program where the class goes out to perform acts of service and truly embody the BYBS program and all its pillars. Check out Kylie being her best self along with the rest of the DYW Class of 2024 by helping and giving back today!
The fun does not stop! Last night, Kylie and the Class of 2024 enjoyed an evening with the Girl Scouts! It was a pajama party and game night to remember! This is what our program is all about!

The Bellingrath Gardens tour is a tradition for Distinguished Young Woman and has been a fun activity for each class of young women to participate in for decades! Yesterday, the Distinguished Young Woman program held their welcome ceremony at the airport in Mobile. Kylie was greeted by distinguished members of the Mobile community and the DYW program, volunteers, Azalea trail maids, host families, and girl scout troops! Her time in Mobile is going to be amazing!

Our Distinguished Young Woman of New Hampshire 2024, Kylie Chamberlin, has officially committed to Stonehill College! She will be studying biology on the pre-dental track in order to one day become an orthodontist. We are so excited for Kylie and can't wait to see where her future takes her! Congratulations!

Our Story
The Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program aims to reward and recognize girls in their senior year of high school. Scholarships are awarded on both the state and national level. And remember, it is always free to enter!
The Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program has five phases of competition:
25% Scholastic Derived from High school transcript & Standardized test scores
additionally if college courses have been completed the GPA is considered
25% Interview 10 minute interview with a panel of 5 judges
20% Talent 90 second talent presentation
15% Fitness Group Aerobic routine with an individual spot light feature
15% Self-Expression Public speaking via a question asked on stage
Scholarship awards are given to the young woman who earns the top score in each category as well as to second alternate, first alternate and, of course, the winner of the title of the Distinguished Young Woman of New Hampshire. Many in-kind college scholarships are also made available simply by entering and participating in this program!
By earning the title of the Distinguished Young Woman of New Hampshire, the winner earns the right to compete at the national level representing the Granite State at the Distinguished Young Women of America scholarship competition. There she will compete for cash and in-kind scholarships as well as meet 49 other Distinguished Young Women while having the experience of a lifetime.
Distinguished Young Women finals are held in Mobile, Alabama annually in June, where the program was founded. Filled with a rich history, the 50 Distinguished Young Women spend 2 weeks making appearances, practicing routines, and making unforgettable memories which culminates in 3 days of competition where the new Distinguished Young Women of America is chosen!
In addition, through our Life Skills program, which includes workshops and online resources, participants can learn skills like interviewing, public speaking, self-confidence building and much more. These skills not only prepare everyone for our program but also for the world after high school and college.
