The Bridge is hiring Neighborhood Navigators!

Neighborhood Navigators with lived and shared experiences will engage with participants who are acutely struggling with homelessness, behavioral health issues, and related challenges to help direct them into longer term care and support, thereby avoiding potential contact with the justice system. In time, and with a foundation of earned trust, the navigators will offer linkages to behavioral health care, housing, and other needed services.

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is an evidence-based program that provides customized treatment, rehabilitation, and support services for individuals with severe mental illness who have not found success with traditional mental health services. Governor Hochul Celebrates Completion of New York City’s First-Ever Mixed-Use Light Manufacturing and Affordable Housing Development in Brooklyn

Governor Hochul Celebrates Completion of New York City’s First-Ever Mixed-Use Light Manufacturing and Affordable Housing Development in Brooklyn Governor Hochul announced the completion of a new, mixed-use residential and light manufacturing development, located in Brownsville, Brooklyn.

Whether riding the subway or walking along a busy stretch of sidewalk, New Yorkers are likely to cross paths with people who have nowhere to sleep. Some of those people might also need mental health or substance abuse treatment.

Those with unmet needs sometimes get stuck in a cycle of homelessness, hospitalization and jail. The Manhattan district attorney's office is now funding a new program, called Neighborhood Navigators, to connect homeless people with services before they interact with the criminal justice system.
