Today, we honor Juneteenth, a pivotal moment in American history marking the end of slavery. On this day in 1865, the last enslaved African Americans in Texas were declared free, a full two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth symbolizes freedom, resilience, and the enduring hope for equality.
