What a great day at RSJ! Today we had a visit from the very best police officer and the ice cream truck! These preschoolers really are living their best lives. So. Much. Fun!

Yesterday the DSNY Touch-a-Truck Event was so much fun! Everyone got to sit in the driver's seat and honk the horn for Recycling and RSJ! Toot toot! Thanks to the parents and caregivers who made it out and joined the fun!

Today, the 3's followed a recipe and enjoyed the sweet rewards of their hard work. What a lemon-y great way to end the week! 💛

PreK 4 loved WILD SIDE ZOO's visit today to our class, too! The children asked great questions and really loved hearing about the animals diets and habitats. The girls were the first to volunteer, no shock there! What a great morning! Thanks, Brian and WILD SIDE ZOO!! We cant wait to have you back next year!

Brian from visited our school today! 11 different animals - reptiles, mammals, birds, oh my! We learned all about their habitats and got to examine them up close! It was so much fun! Everyone was so brave and got to hold or pet each one. Amalia wins the prize for the most enthusiastic! We're so proud of our little ones today. Thanks, WILD SIDE ZOO!!!

We are in full force preparing for our 11th annual Toy Drive in honor of our beautiful Olivia 💗 All toys donated will benefit children at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and other local NY/NJ based pediatric oncology hospitals.

3K continues with learning about the sense of touch - this time with ice packs and cotton balls.

Both classes got to meet her and give her a little love.

Our PreK 4 Class draws self portraits every month. Its so fun to see the learning progression of fine motor, observation and focusing skills - from beginning of the year til the end. Here's our first round of masterpieces! 🥰 - Can you see the 👃👀👂?

Last week, Urban Steam Lab came and made slime with us! It was a sticky, ooey gooey mess!

Dr. Georga Dellas came to RSJ last week to talk about the importance of taking care of our teeth! She's Anastasia's aunt and a dentist! She talked about what causes cavities (Sugar Bugs!) and how to get rid of those pesky critters (brush and floss!) _ Many thanks to the Dellas family for making time for the visit! 🦷😁 🤩

Today was Bear Park Day! We had so much fun playing in the water and sun! Thanks to all who joined us! 🥰🐻☀️

Today, Detectives Rachel Crawford and Deeanna Parrish visited the school! They talked to both classes about the work they do at crime scenes to catch the bad guys. They taught us how to look for clues. We discovered footprints under blue light and dusted for fingerprints. These ladies have cool jobs, thats for sure!
