9/21/23 - Explorers had the opportunity to learn first hand about vehicle stabilization and extraction tactics. With the daylight becoming shorter it provided the Explorers with an additional layer of complexity. Working in low light is a challenge that first responders face on a daily basis. Thank you to Mayflower Towing for providing a car to train on!

5/4/2023 – nicer spring weather and longer daylight hours allowed for some evening hose drills.

Explorers made a hydrant connection to supply the engine with water and stretched a pre-connected 1 ¾” speedlay. Explorers experienced the differences between smooth bore and adjustable nozzles on a handline, and the pros and cons discussed about each.

2.5” hose was stretched to practice a hose loop often used for defensive or protective operations.

Finally, members got to operate the deck gun.

Cleanup provided practice rolling and repacking hose.

March 20, 2023 - Explorers received a flag donation from Sarah Ann Cochrane Chapter, NSDAR of Plymouth at their Good Citizens recognition reception.

This flag will be used to instruct Explorers on proper flag folding, use, etiquette, and care. Every fire station has a flag. This knowledge will be beneficial throughout member’s careers and as a good citizen.

The post would like to thank the organization for the donation and recognition.

Tornado season is fast approaching our area of the country. This is the time to think about where you will get your information from and where to go when severe weather threatens:

*NOAA Weather Radio
*Weather apps on your phone
*Television
*etc

Go to the lowest level of your home or the building you are in (if possible). Find an interior area or room without windows (such as a bathroom, or closet). Hide under a sturdy table or furniture, if possible, and cover with blankets.

March 22, 2023 is the VOLUNTARY Statewide Tornado Drill which provides an opportunity to think about your plan, and to make sure your family knows as well.
