For individuals age 14-20 who are interested in and want to learn about firefighting and Emergency M Regular meetings are twice a month.
The City of Northville Fire Department charters and operates a Fire-Rescue Explorer program. The program, started in 1994 is for individuals 14-20 who are interested in and want to learn about firefighting and EMS. We are chartered through Learning-for-Life’s Explorer program (a division of Boy Scouts of America), members of the National Volunteer Fire Council’s National Junior Firefighter program

9/21/23 - Explorers had the opportunity to learn first hand about vehicle stabilization and extraction tactics. With the daylight becoming shorter it provided the Explorers with an additional layer of complexity. Working in low light is a challenge that first responders face on a daily basis. Thank you to Mayflower Towing for providing a car to train on!

With the warm temperatures continuing and the effects from the recent storms, the City of Northville and Northville Township are working together to setup a cooling center for all Northville Residents.
We're here to provide relief during the following dates and times:

June 3rd, 2023 - Explorers assisted the department with their annual Police & Fire Open House in Downtown Plymouth. Post members interacted with the public and assisted Station 2 Firefighters with a variety of tasks. Great weather today Plymouth!

Historic firehouse in Ypsilanti returns to use for firefighters for three days Firefighters in Ypsilanti are making a brief move back into their old firehouse that's since become a museum to celebrate the historic building and city's 200th birthday.
5/4/2023 – nicer spring weather and longer daylight hours allowed for some evening hose drills.
Explorers made a hydrant connection to supply the engine with water and stretched a pre-connected 1 ¾” speedlay. Explorers experienced the differences between smooth bore and adjustable nozzles on a handline, and the pros and cons discussed about each.
2.5” hose was stretched to practice a hose loop often used for defensive or protective operations.
Finally, members got to operate the deck gun.
Cleanup provided practice rolling and repacking hose.

March 20, 2023 - Explorers received a flag donation from Sarah Ann Cochrane Chapter, NSDAR of Plymouth at their Good Citizens recognition reception.
This flag will be used to instruct Explorers on proper flag folding, use, etiquette, and care.  Every fire station has a flag. This knowledge will be beneficial throughout member’s careers and as a good citizen.
