EVENT ALERT! 💜 Join the Turk and Taylor Initiative for a forum and conversation on coalition building centered around the future of the Compton's Cafeteria building at 101-121 Taylor St in San Francisco's Tenderloin District. This event is open to the public and includes space at the end for Q+A, where the audience is encouraged to ask questions.

This landmark incident, known as the Compton's Cafeteria Riot, is now recognized as a turning point towards militant resistance in the LGBTQ community, particularly trans people. It occurred three years before the Stonewall Riot in New York, which typically marks the beginning of the modern LGBTQ rights movement.

This forum will examine anti-carceral activism within the Tenderloin District and how a more holistic and anti-colonial view of the Tenderloin could impact our perspective of the multi-faceted issue, memory in relation to q***r place-making, and how to build a stronger, equitable coalition.

It’s finally here! first print book celebrating LGBTQIA+ style is being published and made available for purchase by May 2023!!! Link in bio!!!

In a political climate that is increasingly hostile to body autonomy and freedom of expression, even to the point of politicians are banning LGBTQIA+ books and introducing anti-drag performance legislation with such broad language that it could criminalize anyone who dresses in a manner that ‘exhibits a gender identity that is different than the performer’s gender assigned at birth’, dapperQ remains committed to creating platforms for our communities to shine and thrive, while continuing to dismantle harmful gender binaries.

dapperQ Style: Ungendering Fashion shares a vision of a joyful, gorgeous world where everyone can be comfortable expressing their own personal style however they choose. The book is authored by and opens with a foreward by famed genderfluid activist Throughout, interviews conducted with 38 visionaries from across the q***r fashion scene, including internationally acclaimed artist , renowned poet , and beloved bklyn boihood community organizer reinforce three core themes in q***r fashion: Visibility. Belonging. Liberation. Each interview is accompanied by extraordinary photographs from The known for their streetstyle work with celebrities, that reflect each interviewee’s aesthetic while showing off their outfits, down to the finest details.

A must for visibility, affirmation, DEI, classrooms, coffee tables, self love, activism, and defiance.
