For National Nonprofit Day, the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is proud to show the impact we’ve had. In 2023, we created a safe summer experience for over 5,900 summer campers. 173,000 number of healthy summer and afterschool meals were served. We offered 600 group exercises each month across the association. 1,820 children learned how to swim through our free Safety Around Water.

Our 3rd Annual Back to School Bash was a tremendous success last night as we gave away over 450 backpacks & school supplies to children in our community, provided free haircuts, and more. We’re thrilled to share our new facility in Edmond has officially broken ground!

In partnership with the City of Edmond, Government and the Metropolitan Library System, we are excited to start this new chapter!

The new facility will house a state-of-the-art YMCA and a brand-new library, creating a vibrant community hub to serve the Edmond area. We can’t wait to see this project come to life and be able to offer a unique space where learning, fitness and community come together. The new Edmond Community Complex will be located off I-35 and 15th St., right next to Henderson Hills Baptist Church.

The City of Edmond in partnership with the Metropolitan Library System and the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City, will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 8 a.m. for the new $31.64 million Edmond community complex.

The building will house both a brand-new library and a state-of-the-art YMCA. This new facility will be located in one of the fastest-growing areas of Edmond and the metro area. The groundbreaking ceremony celebrates the beginning of a project that will provide a new and innovative space designed to improve the quality of life, health, and well-being of Edmond residents.

The final day of the season for the Ripper Pool will be this Friday, August 9th. We thank you for being a part of our YMCA summer and hope to see you soon!

Maya Flippen is a former camper, Counselor in Training (CIT), Camp Counselor and Programs Coordinator at Camp Classen. She remembers Camp Classen as one of the most meaningful places in the world to her.
