Leadership Thurston County develops informed, skilled and committed civic leaders. The program begins in September and ends in June.
LTC participants come from a variety of backgrounds reflecting the diversity of Thurston County. They share a commitment to improving our community and a desire to assume meaningful leadership roles. The year includes opening and closing retreats, as well as monthly day-long sessions called Challenge Days. There is a graduation celebration for graduates in June at the end of the program. To everyone involved in our pilot Youth Leadership Thurston County program, THANK YOU!
From our partners at New Market Skills Center to our program sponsors, our site visit hosts (many with multiple speakers), our bus drivers, and volunteer chaperones... we could not have done this without all of you.
Because of you, over 300 students had a day of community and career immersion field trips aligned with their New Market program! Some students will most certainly continue to explore that career field while others may be able to make an early decision to seek another path.
