We're excited to announce an opening for a Permanent Full-Time Operations Manager at the Nisqually Reach Nature Center! 🌊

As the Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in overseeing our daily activities, leading our dedicated team, and enhancing our environmental education and community science programs. We need your help with our aquariums!

Help care for the animals in the NRNC aquariums. This can include cleaning the tanks, preparing food, feeding the animals, organizing supplies, and maintaining the life support system.

We're holding a training on Saturday, November 4 from 12PM - 3PM!

For all Pigeon Guillemot lovers out there (that's everyone, right? 😉)...the Salish Sea Guillemot Network is celebrating 20 years of PIGU Breeding Surveys with a special t-shirt fundraiser! The SSGN provides coordination for seven survey regions across Puget Sound, including our South Sound Survey. This is a great chance to sport some PIGU pride and support continued monitoring of our favorite seabird!

This year marks our 20th year of surveying Pigeon Guillemots in the Salish Sea and we have decided that deserves some celebratory swag! 🥳🎉 You can help us celebrate this momentous occasion by purchasing a t-shirt or making a donation. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to the Whidbey Audubon Society, which provides funding for the majority of our network's needs.

It may not look like much, but yesterday we had a rare visitor to Nisqually Reach! Birders came from all over to see a very lost Nazca b***y.

Their typical range is Central America. This one may have ridden north on a ship or was blown up here by storms.

What a difference 12 hours can make! Here is the view from the Center last Tuesday evening vs. the same view the next morning. It was a little foggy! More clouds and fog mean the season is changing.

PSA: Unfortunately, we are having a battle of the bots on our page and we're not going to let them win!

Every so often, bots, posing as people, follow us and try to "sell" NRNC branded t-shirts and sweatshirts in our post comment sections.

These are scams! Please do not click on any of these links to purchase anything!

If we are holding an NRNC merch fundraiser, we will do so in a full Facebook post, coming from NRNC. We will not attempt to sell anything from a personal account in the comments section, and we will not tag individual people, unless they are a featured artist or sponsor.

We will block and delete any of these bots and comments as we see them, but wanted to put this out there just in case! Let's show these bots who's boss! 🚫❌⛔️
