WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT Tuesday Sept 17 at 6pm - this is an outdoor assembly to orient and create community for the Lincoln Options adults. Childcare is provided, specialist teachers talk about the work they do, the community band plays, fundraising and volunteer opportunities are shared.
CLASS MEETINGS are on Sept 9, 11, 12, 18, 19 in the evening. Check the Opus to find out when you are scheduled. These meetings are led by your student's teacher and are an important opportunity to get to know your student's classroom.

The snow make-up day listed on the district calendar for May 24, 2024, will be a regular school day for students.
This date was earmarked as a school day should there be a weather-related school cancellation prior to that date. Schools were closed on Friday, January 12, 2024, due to icy roads and inclement weather. We look forward to seeing all our students on Friday, May 24! 🚌 📚 📝

Registered Dietitian and Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant
“I have almost 20 years of public health and clinical nutrition work experience as a dietitian and IBCLC with WIC, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and WA Department of Health. Since 2021 I have been providing nutrition and lactation counseling at Olympia Pediatrics, and helped create its feeding team, which provides interdisciplinary care to address feeding and nutrition concerns of children with special health care needs. I am also the owner of Babies Suck Lactation - a local in-home lactation consulting business. “
Topics include:
Nutritional needs of the school-age child
Parent/caregiver vs child responsibility at meals and snacks and maintaining boundaries.
Common “parent traps” we fall into because of worry about growth, the amount of food our child is eating, their health, etc. and how these can backfire
Strategies parents can use to help their child eat a wider variety of food, self-regulate their intake, and avoid conflict with their child at meals
Research backed habits that support everyone having a healthy body
