Myself and Sgt. Jimmy Baldwin was honored to receive an award on behalf of Detective James Stevens of the Oneonta Police Detective Division. James is on active military duty and could not be there in person. James received recognition by the Myers-McBee Crime Stoppers. He was awarded for his service in solving crime in the Oneonta Community, utilizing the Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama to solve crimes occurring here. Thank you Detective Stevens for your unwavering dedication to our country and our community. All OPD detectives work hard to make cases and solve crimes that make your police department a dedicated and professional extension of you, our beloved community. We could not do our jobs without help and support from people in our community and beyond. Please be aware of the Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama. I will post a link to them below. Be sure to check them out. Your tips can be anonymous and may lead to cash awards.

We have received reports of someone soliciting money on our behalf. THIS IS A SCAM!

If you receive a call from someone claiming to be from our department and requesting financial donations, DO NOT provide any personal information or money.

Please be aware of phone scams and report any suspicious calls to the Oneonta Police Department at (205) 625-4912.

The Stillwell Family kiddos came by OPD today. We are so glad to be supported by this wonderful family and always look forward to having the kids of our community come by to say hello.

Oneonta City School went on lock down today. A mental patient escaped an ambulance and ran towards the school. The patient was stopped before making entry into the school.
