Business Savings Groups (BSGs) are transforming communities by empowering entrepreneurs with the resources and skills to build sustainable livelihoods! Through these groups, members can access capital, peer mentorship, and tailored training to grow their businesses and lift each other up.

One inspiring example is the Amazing Grace BSG in Harare, Zimbabwe. This group of driven women supports each other through savings, business development, and a shared commitment to community impact. From operating a nursery school to manufacturing detergents, their businesses uplift their families and neighbors alike.

BSGs like Amazing Grace are changing the narrative around poverty and entrepreneurship. To learn more about BSGs, click here: https://www.hopeventures.org/bsg

Zimbabwe faces significant economic challenges, with almost 40% of the population living in poverty.

The lack of tools and education perpetuates cycles of hardship, exacerbated by government corruption and exploitation by international corporations.

Hope Ventures, through partnerships like the Gilead Trust, is helping to alleviate this problem by supporting local entrepreneurs with training, mentoring, and resources.

Ashalt Mukorombindo, part of the Gilead Trust, began an egg hatchery business in October 2022. His initial solar-powered hatchery could handle 1,030 eggs every 21 days. Due to high demand, he expanded with a second hatchery, increasing his capacity to 3,000 eggs.

This boosted his monthly income from $800 to $1,800!

Ashalt, who also pastors Kingdom Life Ministry in Harare, has significantly impacted his community by providing hatching services to 200 households and advising indigenous chicken farmers.

Thank you for your investment in Ashalt and entrepreneurs like him!

"When I came into the program I thought that I would be there to provide business knowledge and experience. It turns out that so much of the work we do is just being there and walking that journey with the entrepreneur."

A key part of our programs is pairing up entrepreneurs with mentors that help them take steps toward self-sufficiency and flourishing. Without it, many aspiring business owners would struggle to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship, missing out on vital guidance and support that can transform their dreams into sustainable realities!

Our CEO Mark Goeser heard a story while staying in Zimbabwe...

Peter, an injured safari guide who was by himself, encountered a breeding herd of elephants. In many cases this would be life-threatening. When the matriarch elephant detected Peter's infected leg, she briskly approached. Followed by the rest of the herd, she tenderly inspected and tended to his wound.

This extraordinary encounter, showcases the unexpected kindness that can happen in even the harshest of environments.

In many ways this mirrors our experience in underserved communities. Working together, we strive to bring about “healing” in some of the world’s harshest economic landscapes.

As a member of the Hope community, you are part of creating stories that are every bit as profound as Peter’s. Your impact sends ripples through entire villages and neighborhoods, fostering profound change and hope.

Thank you for contributing to both the relational and economic wellness of families around the world!

We provide tailored resources, training, and mentorship to help our entrepreneur moms overcome these obstacles and realize their dreams.

By broadening the scope of materials she collects from the public, Portia has significantly enhanced her operational capacity. This strategic initiative, coupled with the upcoming addition of a new recycling machine, is set to quadruple her production capabilities.
