Hi NCC! A unique performance project has come to our attention:

Heather Kully co-manages an elementary level Destination Imagination team from Sheridan Elementary in Lincoln, Nebraska. This year they created a performance based on proving the existence of Bigfoot. They placed 1st at the Regional and State competitions and they are headed to Global Finals in Kansas City at the end of THIS MONTH! They are looking to raise some funds to attend the Finals and wondered if we could help. More info on the project with links below! The team was even featured in the Lincoln Journal Star yesterday!

THE PROJECT:
Much of our team's performance is based in Nebraska. The characters believe that Bigfoot frequents salt licks and a Bigfoot Tooth Spear artifact is found at the Saline Wetlands of Lincoln. The spear is made by Daniel Boone when he fights Bigfoot at a salt lick in Kentucky. Then Thomas Jefferson sends Meriwether Lewis on an expedition to find Bigfoot so that he can also have a Bigfoot tooth. Meriwether loses Boone's spear at the Mouth of the Platte River and the spear is carried to the Saline Wetlands by a beaver who knows Bigfoot. The spear is then found years later by a young boy.

The team conducted research, wrote the script, crafted their set, costumes and props and conducted all production and acting roles during their performance! They performed their skit at the Nebraska Bigfoot Conference in April and had a blast. Attaching a photo below.

THE RESEARCH:
In making this performance our team utilized MANY local resources. They visited the Bigfoot Crossroads Museum of America in Hastings. They learned brainstorming exercises from local advertising firm Archrival. They met with archeologists from the Midwest National Parks office in downtown Lincoln. They took an Anthropology workshop with a Morrill Hall educator. They met with a local puppet designer (Prairie Madness) to see some of her puppet designs up close. And now we are planning to work with Wilderness Park to photograph some “Bigfoot sightings" in the park along Salt Creek to post on social media.

THE GOAL:
Her and her team is in the process of trying to raise the $5,500 registration fee for Global Finals. If you can help or want to pass this along to others who can, feel free!

SNACK SHACK movie is in over 430 theaters across the U.S. 🇺🇸 and Canada 🇨🇦 The writer/director, Adam Rehmeier (Dinner in America), and all the cast and crew poured their hearts and souls into this one. Snack Shack is a coming-of-age comedy set in 1991 Nebraska that will have you laughing out loud while taking you on an incredible ride with a spectrum of emotions about being a teen in a small town during the summer.

Please go check it out this weekend in a theater near you. There are so many talented people involved in this film! plays Moose’s Mom -SHERRY and plays her husband! 🌭🌭🌭🌭This film was written/directed by a Nebraskan and shot fully on location in Nebraska.
