Don’t let em put you in a fitness funk y’all! The reason why you’re not working out, is NOT because you can’t live up to their standards… it’s because you haven’t really thought about your own standards. You deserve to move better… feel better… and believe you’re sexy again. You deserve all 3 for the appeasement of yourself… and no one else.
Are you in the Fitness Funk??? The Fitness Funk is the state of feeling too intimidated to start working out. Sometimes your in the funk when you’re a newbie just getting started out… or just as frequently, you’re in the funk because you used to be in shape and now you’re too intimidated to start back up because you’re afraid of seeing how much you’ve fallen off. Move better... Feel better... And believe that you're sexy. I know it's the start of a new year and everyone is excited to get moving again. But don't lose focus. The real reason why are you working out is not to prove anything to anyone else. It's not even to prove something to yourself. Is really about self care. With regards to Fitness self-care is really all about moving better feeling better and truly believing that you're sexy not matter what you look like.

Once a year when y band performs at the New York City Marathon, I get the chance to mix my fitness with my music! Not only are these my favorite pastimes, but they’re also my two favorite ways to bring people together from all different backgrounds. If you’ve never noticed the connection between fitness and music then you probably haven’t fully enjoyed fitness or music. If you’ve never noticed connections we all have as people, then you’ve never really appreciated people either.
“Choppin it up” with my personal training client... I was telling her why I was too stressed to work out right now and how I felt like I needed finish my project before I get back on my workout game. Are you working on any projects right now… what are you doing to balance your projects with your daily fitness and self car regimen?
My favorite part of working with people who are new to boot camps is showing them that every exercise has a modification that fits their current level of fitness and capabilities of their body. Fittings in should NEVER be the reason that holds you back from getting started with working out. This whole body image thing was created by the as a way to sell diet pills and exercise equipment on tv. Not to actually get people in shape. On top of that everyone on Instagram posting videos of there insane workouts makes you think that you need to be able to do a one arm push-up in order to get in shape. That’s not fair either. I’m curious… how many people have felt too weak/out of shape to even try out a fitness program that you were actually interested in? Drop a line below about what you were (or are) thinking about that makes you second guess yourself?

Work! Work! Work! Fun! Fun! Fun!
All this little girl wanted was work out with her mom and dad @ the Sankofa Fest. I was simply blessed with the opportunity to be there and participate. This is the beauty of family oriented community events in West Philly…
My only wish for this fall is for more beautiful days and more fun community activities… Anybody know of any other community events coming up?

Don't let anyone tell you nothin'. Stay focused and stay dedicated!! You are capable so much more than you can imagine; therefore, don't let one person dictate your dreams.
Thank you for the shoutout Ready.Set.Philly! At Bodyrock Bootcamp, we are all about providing an experience to help grow individuals not only in their fitness lives, but their personal lives as well! With these five tips, you will become the best version of yourself. Don’t ignore yourself; make sure that you are making your needs a priority and executing anything that you need to do to get yourself where you want to be. Use what you got; don’t let your pockets determine your fitness journey, there are many ways to build equipment or implement easy to do workouts at home. Take care of yourself to take care of others; this goes without saying. If you are unable to take care of yourself and your needs, then you will fail in helping take care of other people. Progress, not perfection; stop worrying about perfection, because it DOES NOT exist. Instead, focus on your steady progression and how far you have come from the beginning of your journey. Last, but not least, take it ; don’t let all this high tech equipment, expensive meal plans, or unrealistic workout plans cloud what you are able to accomplish. Keep it basic and keep grinding!!

Maintain a solid routine, maintain a balanced lifestyle, and maintain your happiness. These are important steps to take when living your everyday life. Your success will flourish in and out of the gym if you are able to maintain these imperative steps.

Working to be your best self shouldn't have to put you in a position to get a loan in order to pay for it. Don't worry, we don't think it makes sense, either.
Feel the burn and feel the pump!! When you start feeling that pump, keep pushing and let yourself reach levels that you didn't think you were capable of reaching. Keep grinding and see results.
Enough with shaming women in the gym. Let's empower these women to reach for the stars and accomplish all of their fitness goals! Don't let social media or insecure individuals determine your fitness fate; set goals, remain consistent, and see results. YOU can do it LADIES!!
The first step to beginning your fitness journey is realizing that you are doing this for YOURSELF and NO ONE ELSE. This journey will help you grow as an individual and build a healthy lifestyle. YOU should want to better yourself, not for anyone else. Keep grinding and see results!!
