NDS Community Food Program
The program provides a way for individuals and organizations to contribute to the food needs of the poor.
Nutritional Development Services' Community Food Program collects food from Catholic parishes, church-related organizations, and other institutions and distributes it to food cupboards and meal programs serving people in need. Catholic Community Services CUA #4 in Greater Northeast Philadelphia recently received its first food donation from the Community Food Program of NDS. Thanks to all of the many donors to NDS, we were able to reach out and provide food even while helping agencies all over the Philly metro area are under stress. The staff and guests of CUA are grateful too: "The cereal and pasta were especially a BIG HIT! Our team and agency are so grateful [to have} the ability to provide food items to those who are most vulnerable. Thank you."
Thank you Mission of Saint Joan of Arc for partnering with NDS to distribute fresh produce to members of the community. People also received other food items from the food cupboard, which NDS supports with deliveries of meat, produce, and shelf-stable food each month.
Congratulations to all of the athletes of the CYO Archdiocese Championship Meet on Saturday at Franklin Field!! NDS helped to refresh the athletes and supporters by giving cups of delicious orange slices. It was a huge hit on this beautiful, warm day!

Parishioners at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer parish in North Wales celebrated Mother's Day by helping NDS pack up 400 bags of food for people in need. Some of the volunteers helped add extra support by writing encouraging notes. Great job!!
Once again the wonderful students and staff at St. Katherine Day School have shined brightly during the CRS Rice Bowl campaign!! With the encouragement of Mrs. Campbell and other staff, the children get very excited about doing good for others. Thank You!
NDS is spotlighting one of our wonderful volunteers, Terri!
Working closely with Nutritional Development Services, Terri was asked one day if she would like to join the NDS team and give out snacks to those experiencing homelessness. Since then, she has been a dedicated volunteer helping NDS serve children and those in need with healthy food and food-related resources. Her favorite part about volunteering? "Knowing that you are trying to make someone else's day a little brighter."
Thank you, Terri, for your continued support!
Great job Epiphany Parish Religious Ed (PREP) students! These students did a fantastic service for others by collecting money for the CRS Rice Bowl.....it was the most money ever collected by the school!! They proudly presented their check of $554! Thank you!
Another very happy child; some beautiful Easter baskets; a giant basket for a family at a homeless shelter; and grateful staff to deliver (NDS) and receive (ACTS) this Easter joy for the children...... just a few more examples of the hundreds of people touched by the generosity and hard work of Molly Thomas!
Camille Crane, the Administrator at Catholic Social Services Delaware County, expressed her thanks to Molly and NDS after receiving a delivery of Easter bags and a supply of breakfast foods. She noted that the Easter bags would "bring joy to children whose families live in deep poverty.....their families benefit from our Parenting and Prenatal Program through educational sessions that culminate in breakfast, snacks and shopping in our free baby boutique; they will also enjoy some of the healthy breakfast bars!"
Some of the food items also went to their Coffee Club program, which supports people who are unhoused. Camille noted that acts of kindness and generosity are often lacking, and end up have a high impact for their participants, who are tired of roaming the streets at night. Thank you NDS donors for making this support possible!
