Congratulations to DV’s 10U team for making the Babe Ruth 10U districts championship. Boys fought hard but lost. By making the chip, they qualified for the PA States tourney held in Centennial, PA next weekend. Good luck, 10U!

Some of the photos from last week's end of season festivities which included a Home Run Derby and All Star Game. Another great season is in the books with a tremendous send off to our 12 year old players.

We are happy to announce that we will once again be partnering with MAG Photo for our baseball pictures!

Team Photos - The schedule shows when each team photo will be taken. Please be there 15 minutes before the start time of your game for the team photo. We cannot delay the start of games so it is important that you are there on time.

Individual Photos - These can be taken at any time before, during or after your game. You can also take your individual photo at any time the photographer is there. Images of the price sheet as well as order form are attached to this post. If you can please review and complete your order form ahead of time it makes the process move faster for everyone.

We started our team and individual photos last night. Here is a reminder and update to the schedule as the field renovations and weather has caused some rescheduling.

Our photographer will be here during the dates/times shown below and individual pictures can be taken at any of those times. It can be taken before, after, or during your game. The photos are quick once you get your order form filled out and submitted. Note that you can have your individual photo taken on a day besides the day of your team photo.

- Thursday, May 4th from 4:30 until 7:30
- Monday, May 8th from 4:30 until 7:30
- Tuesday, May 9th from 4:30 until 7:30
- Thursday, May 11th from 4:30 until 7:30
- Saturday, May 13th from 8:30 am until noon
- Monday, May 15th from 6:00 until 7:30
- Saturday, May 20th from 8:30 am until 12:30

The team photo schedule is below. Your team photos will be taken immediately before your game on the date specified on the schedule. Please try to be at the field at least 15 minutes before the start of your player's game on the day of your team photo to ensure everyone is included and your game starts on time.

A couple before and after photos of our field renovations as we resume play at 19th and Johnston tonight! They look beautiful!

We are happy to announce that we will be having MAG Photography at our fields starting on April 29th to take individual and team photos. See below for more info and the attached order form. Forms will be available the day of your pictures but having it filled out ahead of time makes things move much faster.

SPRING BASEBALL UPDATE!

We received a substantial grant from the City of Philadelphia to renovate our fields. The first phase was completed last summer with the installation of a new scoreboard and new fencing.

The second phase with begin next week. This phase includes the installation of new sod. Starting next week the fields will be stripped, leveled, new dirt will be applied, and the bases will be re-aligned. Once that is complete new sod will be laid. We are still planning to start our season by mid-April. Special thanks to Councilman Kenyatta Johnson for his advocacy and financial support.

We will begin to hold practices with outside practices being re-located to 7th and Packer. We will also use SPST for indoor practices. Practices will be limited due to field availability. Your coach will be in touch with you soon with your practice schedule.

We apologize for any potential inconvenience. These field improvements will benefit our current ballplayers as well as future generations of baseball players at DVYAA.

This year we will be doing player evaluations for all children ages 7 - 12 on March 4th and 11th at SPST (2514 Morris Street). This will ensure that teams are balanced and each child is playing at an appropriate skill level. More details to follow.

Update for 2022 Fall Baseball Registration.

Teams will be updated the week of Labor Day. You will hear from your player's coach once they have be assigned a team. Please note that if you have registered but have not paid you need to send an email to [email protected] to make payment arrangements to secure your spot in the league - this needs to be done before the draft. We plan to start the season on September 17th.
