This means your organization will receive a $1 donation for every $3.00 reusable GIVE BACK WHERE IT COUNTS Bag sold during August 2024 at:

My most important observation as we close out the 2024 class visitations to PVVM.
I KNOW OUR CHILDREN WILL MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE!!!! Be very proud of them, I am.

The students from Mother of Divine Grace School in Port Richmond displayed the utmost courtesy, respect, and attention to our visiting Veterans, their stories, and all the history of the Memorial.
Please know that if you have a group from a school,organization, senior home, etc., please schedule a visit to this Memorial, and the Memorial District area.
Other than for groups of 99+, you do not need to have a board member present, or a permit; however a courtesy call to 267-973-0600, or email to [email protected] for a ‘tour guide’; is acceptable.

All are encouraged and welcomed!

Hackett Elementary students participated in the Memorial Day Awareness Program today. Students, staff and family members from Hackett are to be commended, as the fifth graders were attentive, interested, and respectful towards our visiting Veterans. Thank you Joe Bohr, Mike Daily, and Joe Eastman for sharing your personal military stories with our visitors.
The Penn Treaty Special Services District through the PTSSD Community Benefits Agreement funded the costs of the Fishtown school’s visit to the Memorial. We thank them.

The Beirut Memorial in Foglietta Plaza was marred again.
Thank you to our friend (M) that lives near the Memorial Area and alerted us to this disgusting attempt at disgracing our heroes.

Applications for the 2024 Philadelphia Veterans Parade & Festival are now available! Applications are now open for companies, groups, or Veteran Service Organizations (VSO) interested in marching in the parade or participating in the Vet Fest. The 2024 Philadelphia Veterans Day Parade & Festival will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2024. For more details, visit our website.

Terrific work by our volunteers from the Bridesburg VV Memorial Society and the PVVM Board today, helping get ready for the Memorial Day ceremony at noon on May 27th. Thank you, all!

Note route changes

We thank the Penn Treaty Special Services District- PTSSD (in conjunction with the Community Benefits Agreement with the Fishtown Community and Sugarhouse Casino) for funding the schools within the geographic boundaries of said guidelines, for the PVVM Memorial Day Awareness Program. We also acknowledge Local International Longshoreman’s Union officials; and our own PVVM, Vice President, Dennis Best for financing schools outside this perimeter to provide bus transportation to the PVVM. (Approximate cost: $350. Per trip).

Students and staff from St. Anthony of Padua School in South Philadelphia visited the PVVM today. Veterans Pat Mitchell, Joe Eastman, and Joe Bohr shared stories, and their personal military history. So much is to be said for the students’ attention, and respect shown to the Vets. It was a pleasure having them visit! Compliments to them, the school staff, and their families. They did them all proud!
