As we celebrate 45 years of distance education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, we're looking back on some major milestones. In 1980, just two years after the university began offering a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration via print-based courses, Marianne Niemann completed the program and became UW-Platteville's first distance education graduate. Today, there are over 3,600 alumni of print-based and online programs.

Speaker Natalie Isensee is the 2022 Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Woman Veteran of the Year, and a University of Wisconsin-Platteville alum! Natalie graduated from the Master of Science in Project Management program in 2012. The event will also feature a roundtable discussion the I Am Not Invisible exhibit from the Wisconsin Veterans Museum.

On April 18, 2023, the Wright Center for Non-Traditional and Veteran Students is honored to welcome Alumnus Natalie Isensee to UW-Platteville to talk about her experiences as a woman veteran and service member. We will also host a panel discussion in the afternoon to talk about our community's experiences, successes and challenges, and to share resources that are available for women veterans and service members in our community and region.

Natalie is the 2022 Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Woman Veteran of the Year, works as a DEI manager for WPS, is an advocate with many organizations, and serves on the Wisconsin Blue Ribbon Commission for Veterans Opportunity.
